Used this to connect my 3/8" inner diameter, 9/16" outer diameter nitrile rubber hose to the factory a/c drain hose on my 5th gen Runner for drain line extension modification. I chose stainless steel to prevent any rusting issue. I could've went the plastic route but wanted something that wouldn't get brittle and break years from now. I also used small spring hose clamps to secure everything together. Upon inspection when I received them, they appear to be very good quality. The finish is good and the barbs are uniform. I'm good with this purchase.

Quality brass fittings intended for splicing 2 pieces of vinyl or rubber hose. These fittings are meant for 1/4 inch inside diameter, not to be confused with 1/4 inch outside.
