After going through 4 salad spinners in a 6 month time frame, I finally found the best one. The first one I purchased was the Brieftons salad spinner and with that one, the inner bowl warped the first time I washed it, even though I put it on the top rack in the dishwasher (it claimed to be dishwasher safe). The mechanisms underneath the lid also got really nasty after it was washed and kept draining really nasty smelling water.I then purchased the Cuisinart 5 quart salad spinner and the outer bowl on that one cracked within a week, so I thought maybe I just got a defective one and I ordered another one, which then broke the first day I used it.As for this one, I've had it for 3 months now and I use it several times a week. The underneath part of the lid is all open, so water doesn't get caught up in the mechanisms and it doesn't leak stinky water. The bowl itself isn't anything like the others. This bowl is more like a slightly thicker Tupperware type plastic. It holds up extremely well and won't crack in the dishwasher. It's also a very good size. I was able to fit 2½ chopped heads of iceberg lettuce in it.~â—~â—~â—~â—~ UPDATE: August 23, 2023 ~â—~â—~â—~â—~I just wanted to give a small update and say that this is still one of the absolute best and most useful products I've ever purchased from Amazon. I purchased this salad spinner on August 25, 2022, so I'm just 2 days shy of having it for a year now. I still use it several times a week, and it still works fabulously, with no aesthetic or performance defects whatsoever.~â—~â—~ ANOTHER UPDATE: February 3, 2025 ~â—~â—~Over TWO YEARS now with this salad spinner and it still works perfectly. I continue to use it several times a week and it still looks and functions just as fabulously as it did when I posted my original review as well as my previous update.

I like that this is just the right size for me. It allows me to have clean fresh lettuce for days in my fridge without going bad and spoiling before I can use it all. I usually have a salad with my supper every night, and use about 2 oz of romaine or other greens in it. There’s a learning curve with this thing. I put the lettuce in the big bowl first and rinse it first then I put it into the basket and shake some of the excess water out. Then I put the cover on and snap if closed. The trick is to stop spinning when all of the lettuce is up against the sides. You can tell when this happens without even looking because it gets harder to spin. After it stops I dump the water out of the opening on the top of the cover, which I love!! I don’t need to open it to dump the water out after spinning it each time. after I dump the water out I shake the bowl to get all of the lettuce spread it out again and then I spin. I repeat the spinning, dumping and shaking until the lettuce is just slightly damp. It takes a few times. Then I dump the lettuce into a towel lined bowl big enough to fit the lettuce and cover it with another towel. this keeps the lettuce nice and dry, so it stays fresh longer. I’m really happy with this salad spinner. It takes some work but it’s so worth it. The top of the handle popped off one time while I was spinning it but it popped right back on.

Love it! Easy to wash lettuces and spinach then pour out rinse water and spin dry. I have had other salad spinners. This is quite sturdy enough. There's no point in overfilling it because nothing can spin dry if packed solid but it can spin out a huge salad quickly and cleans up easily & quickly. This is well made and a good price. It looks nice too. Pretty kitchenware is as uplifting as any other pretty thing. I'm awfully practical and prefer function over looks but it's nice that this has it all.

My grand daughter & I have grown lettuce, spinach & kale and use this spinner after we wash the crops. She loves spinning it and drying the leaves. It is perfect for the Kale which we dry & then put on the dehydrator b/c she loves kale chips. I'm not sure if I actually like that is doesn't have drain holes in the bottom though. My previous one did which allows the water to drain out as you're spinning, but then you get water on whatever you're setting the spinner on. This new one doesn't have drain holes on the bottom, so you have to pour out the water, but I think so of the water gets back on the leaves, so I have to spin it again a few times to get the rest of the water off. I might just poke a few holes in the bottom of it.

The spinner works, but I didn't get the salt and pepper shaker :( I bought this one partially because it came with the salt and pepper shaker, so pretty bummed. The inside basket is a little flimsy. It feels like you need to watch where you grab and how hard you squeeze when picking up the basket, or it might break or fall apart. The outside bowl feels nice and sturdy, the spinning action works. The lid when I need to clean is tricky and a bit of a pain. Nothing states if you can snap it apart to wash it. So rinsing many times over is a must when washing the lid for me.

When I received it I have noticed a hole in short it was damaged. I’m just waiting for a refund as well but I don’t mind giving it another try.
