While I don't think this would hold up well to daily use, for the average weekend warrior, this is a great and comfortable mat. It's bigger than the average mat which I found to be a major plus. It has hundreds of little feet on the bottom fo the mat to prevent it from sliding on the floor. Lastly, it's slippery enough to be able to slide on it easily. I have one of those foam fold up mechanics mats, but trying to move around on that thing isn't easy, it's not as comfortable, and it gets bunched up. This mat does none of those things, and you could remove the cover to give it a gentle wash as necessary. Glad I got it right before I replaced the exhaust system on my 1970 Chevelle SuperSport. It certainly saved my back and shoulders from a lot of pain versus laying on concrete for hours on end.

This is great for my husband who is a mobile mechanic. He never knows where he is going to be fixing cars and getting on the ground in the wet mud or rocks poking him is never fun. This mat is thin but thick enough to provide some comfort from the direct stabbing of the rocks. It also keeps him dry and warm. I like that the cover is washable. It’s big enough to be functional but not too big to be in the way.

The foam was a hair too big for the cover so the foam curls in one end. My other issue is that the handle/strap isn't sewn to the mat. I expect to lose it shortly. I was hoping for a little more cushion, but it mostly works and beats the moving blanket I've been using for years. I don't know how it holds up to fluid spills and I hope not to find out.

I’ve always hated lying on the cold, hard garage floor, but this mechanic pad has completely changed that! It gets the job done and keeps me off my knees lol. Buy it for DIY at home 100% you know the uncomfortable feeling the back of your head gets lol
