Its a bit bigger than I expected, which is a little obnoxious when I'm simply using it for my house/car keys. But that's my own fault for not checking dimensions, so it wouldn't be fair to dock stars. It seems pretty sturdy. The spring is quite strong, and the whole thing has some "heft" to it. Also to my surprise, it doesn't appear any of the paint is wearing off or really even getting scratched for that matter. These clips usually take a beating with my keys jingling around with every step I take. Maybe one of these days I'll try hanging off a cliff with it...no, nevermind, I won't ever try that. But it might be cool, if I wasn't too lazy to climb stuff.

WAAAY tougher than your average key carabeener. Much beefier too. Perfect for my needs. A little big for a belt loop, but I use these these for every other application of a carabeener possible. He action is super smooth and the gate hinge is very sturdy.

I was looking for a carabiner that would fit my 2 inch straps that I sometimes use for my hammock. This Mad Rock Super Tech wasn't quite big enough and bunched up the strap a bit. Although it felt like a very solid and well made carabiner, it is larger than than the generic cheap 2KN carabiners I was using before. I eventually went with the MadRock Hulk HMS which definitely fits the strap without bunching up.

Excellent build quality, right amount of tension in the spring, looks good and overall, great value for the price! I use it on my backpack to hook a bottle or toiletry bag, etc. when travelling.1 star deducted because, as mentioned by another reviewer as well, not an accurate representation of the blue color shown for the product - the actual color is more of a washed out blue. Personally, the color was not an issue for me.

I needed a carabiner to hold my canteen to my back pack, and anything else that it needed to be clipped on. This carabiner was perfect and a great price. NOTE - I do not use it for climbing, but it performs flawlessly for any odd jobs that I have used it for since I got it.

I'm not a climber but I appreciate good hardware.I had been using a novelty carabiner for my keys to hang on my belt loop.On average, I attach and remove the carabiner about 25-30 times a day.Novelty carabiners would get worn out in 2-3 months.After 7 months with the Mad Rock carabiner, it still feels just as sprung and secure as it did on day 1.You get what you pay for

I already have the Orange version and love it. Thought the color blue will better match everything else I carry with me, so I ordered it from Amazon. Unfortuately the photo makes the blue look much darker than it actually is. The blue is much more of a reflective sky blue, than deep blue. It's not a deal breaker, but still disappointed in the color not matching the image.With the orange one, I had it for two years and with abuse the paint did start wearing out, but that was with me dropping it against asphalt, scratching it up with metal, and such. I think if used for its intended purpose, it wouldn't have any issues.

there is no "lip" for the black piece to hook into. I used these as grocery hooks in my car. they are very durable, the metal doesnt scratch, it feels very soft and nice to the touch. the spring action is just right. Not too tough, not too loose.
