Okay! So to start, I had a preemie baby that was in the NICU before coming home.He was VERY picky & particular about sleeping. He hated being cold & loved feeling snuggled up in warm blankets. At the same time, he absolutely hated being swaddled and having his arms held down.My husband and I struggled with both knocking him out AND making sure he stayed out. He would sleep the longest periods of time (about 3-4 hours in between) held by one of us. We were at the point of sleeping in shifts because if we were both awake at the same time, nobody was getting any sort of sleep.Short of simply putting him in bed with us, we were kind of at a loss. (Nothing wrong with people that safely cosleep, but this little guy is bottle fed & we already went down that path with our first & didn’t want to repeat it a second time)Enter Magic Merlin’s sleep sack. I had heard about the “magic†and seen photos of friends baby’s wearing the puffy marshmallow suit, but I honestly always thought it was just massively hyped up.(In retrospect, I’m a moron & maybe if I’d tried it with my first he wouldn’t have migrated into my bed)Does it work for every baby? Not sure. Did it work for MY baby? HELL YES.MY GOD THIS SUIT KNOCKS THIS CHILD OUT FLAT ON HIS DIAPER BOOTY IN WHAT FEELS LIKE A MILLISECOND. INSTANT 5-6 HOUR STRETCH OF SLEEP FOR A 3 MONTH OLD (if you’re a parent ((you must be if you’re reading this)), you know any sort of sleep is the most precious thing ((I mean besides our sweet little poop machines that don’t let us sleep)) )This thing is great. No, seriously. I let him show signs of being sleepy (simple yawning/rubbing face) and I change his diaper, slip him in the sack & lay him down in the bassinet. 9/10 I can walk away and he’s already falling asleep on his own. During winter my bedroom is around 64-70 and he’s always perfectly snug, not too hot and not too cold. We sleep him in a onesie, footie pjs and socks. Is it perfect? No, but you gotta take a hit here & there. It’s pretty thick and does take a bit to dry when you wash it. The best thing here is to have 2, if possible. Another thing to note is I feel the suit does run a little small. I have the 3-6 months size but my child is 3 months & it’s pretty tight on him (he’s about 14-15 lbs). I definitely do not see this fitting him a month from now. While the double zipper in the front is very welcome for nightly diaper changes, I do still have to pull his leg up and out of the pant leg and this usually wakes him up if he’s drowsy or sleeping—as a result, I’ve begun to do diaper changes before sleepy feeds to avoid waking him up unnecessarily. My sons head is a little flat from sleeping on his back, so we’re encouraging tummy time during the day whenever possible. He isn’t yet rolling over, but I believe the suit must get taken away once they are rolling over or attempting to while wearing it (?)I also do not put the suit on unless I think he’ll want to nap longer than an hour or it’s time for bed at night. I do not want to restrict his movement throughout the day so I let him do his thing then.So far, this suit has been an absolute lifesaver. I think if used as intended, chances are you and your child will have a great time.It has helped my little one sleep longer stretches & be comfortable & warm. I’m not certain what to expect during the summer but I will probably sleep him in a onesie and diaper with the suit over. This thing is great, if you’re struggling with baby sleep, it’s more than worth giving a try!

Our 3 month baby falls asleep SO fast in this sleep suit. They don’t like it when it’s first being put on but as soon as we start rocking them they are out so quickly. It really helps reduce the amount of time we have to spend rocking him to sleep, which helps so much with arm/back pain. The material is super soft and washes well. It does take a little extra time to dry though. I was worried it would be somewhat weighted but it’s super light and airy while still keeping baby warm at night. If you’re transitioning out of the swaddle it’s a great product to try!

We used a baby sleep sack, that secures the arms of the baby from 2:00 to 5 months to help my baby sleep through the night. When she started to roll over on her own we were afraid she would roll over in the night and not have use of her arms. After the magic sleep suit was recommended to us we thought we would give it a try, it worked great! It makes it so she can't move her arms too much to keep herself awake or lift her legs up and keep fussing all night, it keeps her still and cozy, but if she were to roll over she can lift herself up with her arms still. She slept through the night, I would recommend this as a great transition from swaddling.

After the first two nights I was so happy and wanted to write a review, but I decided to wait to leave a review after more time passed. I know sleep regression will be coming soon, but my son has been sleeping in this suit for almost two months and he sleeps amazing thru the night. He is now 3.5 months old and I just ordered him the size large to make sure we have it on hand for when he no longer fits in the size small. As a second time mom this has been a huge blessing. I know what to get my friends when they have a baby. I tried sleep sacks and they did not work. This suit really is magic. I live where the winter is cold and I noticed my baby was cold so he couldn’t sleep on his own. This suit is so warm that he falls asleep right away. A baby product worth every penny!

used to swaddle our little one with halo sleep sacks since he was born cus he moves A LOT in his sleep, and it’s more than just his startle reflexes. but recently (3m) he’s started to roll to his side so i knew he needed to transition out of the swaddle. i saw this product recommended on a parenting blog so i decided to give it a try.it really is like magic, he falls asleep almost instantly in it. we used to not have much luck with consistent daytime naps, he would always wake up when we would put him down (he loves a contact nap) but even if he wakes up when we put him in this he falls back asleep really quickly. he also tends to move less than when he was in the swaddle. it’s like this thing is giving him a nice little hug as he sleeps. it’s also really breathable so he doesn’t get too hot in it. we leave him in just a onesie or pj depending on how cold it is (winter in florida, the temp varies a lot).the only downside i would say is how expensive it is for something that he’ll grow out of in a few months. with the swaddles we liked to have 2, so if one is dirty, the other can be used while the dirty one gets washed. i wanted to make sure this worked for him before i decided if it was worth getting a second one. thankfully we haven’t had any bad blowouts or accidents while he’s been in it but i think i am going to buy a second one cus it’s worth it for how well he sleeps in it. which means we also sleep better + can get some stuff done during his daytime naps.

Dont really write reviews but i thought this maybe will be helpful for other sleep deprived parents. I was very sceptical when i ordered this suit. My daughter is a fussy one and if she is not comfy she will not sleep. Period. Scream the house down and not sleep. She is 6 months and i was still swaddling her. I bought this product with the frame of mind that will be added to the pile of wasted money. How wrong was i?! She loves it. Doesn't quite sleep through the night but wakes up twice and then straight back to sleep. Worth a try peeps. If you are struggling to transition from swaddling try this. You may be pleasantly surprised.

The price is justified by the effectiveness.

I bought this after many recommendations from friends. It has been a game changer! My baby was waking frequently through the night due to temperature. We were having a hard time finding a balance between it being warm enough for baby and cool enough for us to sleep. The magic Merlin sleep suit keeps baby warm and snuggled. It’s more fluffy than bulky and not weighted. And my baby looks like the cutest little marshmallow. Highly recommend!!

I wouldn't say this is a magic suit, it definitely did not meet expectations for all. Unfortunately it did not work for my little one. I was desperate to try anything, and too expensive. They should offer money back guarantee if doesn't work. Just have to add it to the list of waste of money gone down the drain :(
