Very easy to setup but my fingers aren’t that steady enough to get it spinning without introducing too much wobble. Found that I could really get it spinning by just blowing air through a straw across the top of it nearest the pivot point. Will go for a very long time!

Cool magnet effect? Yes. Professional looking? No. Sensitive and a bit of a pain to spin without making it fly off? Very. I like having fidget toys on my desk but I find that I dont play with this one as much because it's difficult to get it in the right place and you spend 90% of the time "fixing" it. I wished they made one of these that looked more professional out of wood and metal. The plastic just feels a little underwhelming.... but then again, its price makes its very affordable so you win some and lose some I suppose. Would I order again? Probably not.

I had high hopes for this gyroscope but ultimately I find it fairly disappointing. It is neat to see it just hovering there wobbling as I type but spinning it is just not worth the trouble. I've got simple ball bearing fidget toys that spin longer with way less effort/issues.It's not properly balanced, on mine the black side always faces down because it's slightly heavier. So the faster it spins, the worse it wobbles. And it can't handle much wobbling at all before launching itself, not to mention all the times you'll just spin it slightly wrong and have it immediately fail. The glass piece is also not shaped properly so you see a gap under it, it's not a huge thing but why not just design it properly?Ultimately I am using it as a display piece, spinning it just leads to frustration.

This desk toy is very satisfying! It's easy to set up and to learn how to use. It's challenging to do it well, but after a few spins, I was able to get it to rotate for a long period of time. The black and white pattern looks cool as it spins, too

My job requires me to be on the phone and in meetings a good chuck of the day and I like to fidget. I have several fidgety toys on my desk because one just never does it, so I figured I would add this to the list.It is neat to watch it float on the desk as if almost light magic. Give it a nice twist and it rotates for a good bit. Not too hard though or it will come crashing to the ground.I did notice (and it could be just mine) that it does seem to be off balance a bit. One side always faces down and as it comes to a stop, you notice it wobble back in forth until the one side faces down instead of continually spinning. I'm not sure if something is off center, but it doesn't seem quite right.Nevertheless it is fun to play with and look at. It would be better if it was more like a gyroscope, but I will live.

I suppose this falls into the "Fidget Toy" category, and it's pretty cool. Spin it and it goes for a looong while (15 minutes or so when done right). You have to figure out how to spin it fast but steady because if you get too wild with it, you'll just fling it out of the tray.It could stand to be balanced a little better. Even with the steadiest spin, it wobbles a bit. You can tell the wobble is from imbalance, not a bad spin, because when it's almost stopping, it rocks CCW, then CW, then CCW... until it finally stops. The piece it spins on (the only point of contact) is plastic, though the included How-To card says glass. Not a big deal, but still... It also only sorta fits into its slot; it ought to snap in so it doesn't fall out if/when you pick up the base. I'll probably glue it in place.Because of the wobble and the plastic "glass", I felt I should ding by one star, but still, all in all, fun to play with and surely worth $10.

I remember these coming out when I was a kid and they were way cool. Well, that mesmerizing experience still exists in the youth today because my two kids keep stealing it from my desk to play with it and watch is "levitate". It's a lot of fun. I constantly find it on their dressers and desks, haha. I would reccomend this, especcially if you have inquisitive kids.

It comes with a piece of loose glass which you insert into a slot like in the picture. The levitating spindle then spins against that. The effect is not bad, but not terribly original. The base seems to have four magnets, or at least four places where magnets could have been placed, that could levitate the object without the need for glass. It would have looked much cooler. They even have photos of other models on the manual that levitate without a support, as if mocking you. As it is, the levitation is not very stable, and while spinning the spindle often escapes and falls off. Probably weak magnets and poor engineering. The glass piece is pretty sharp and you could easily get cut. Not something you want to touch much. Also seems flimsy like it could shatter anytime. Should have been plexiglass, not real glass. Also showed up in baby section for me, lol, DEFINITELY not baby safe.
