Works better then my mailbox ring sensor. No it does not alert your phone. But much cheaper and doesn’t require hub to convert wifi to z wave. Range is respectable too.

I installed this right before winter and it continues to work great! No more wondering if the mail has been delivered. First ithe indoor receiver beeps several times to let you know the mailbox is open. Then the light will continue to blink to remind you you have mail. Once you retrieve the mail and return inside, push the button to stop the light from blinking.

This my second review. This product worked well for a few months but has completely quit now.It was erratic about a couple of weeks ago. A fresh set of batteries in the transmitter (mailbox unit) seemed to help, but now it is completely broken. The receiver (inside unit) just sits there with its reset, steady, red light on. Never tells me that mail was delivered. Useless. Do not waste your money.=================================================Original review: This mailbox alarm works well. However, fixing two things would have raised my rating to five stars.First short-fall is the adhesive on the back of the mailbox/transmitter unit. After cleaning inside of the mailbox door and insuring the surface was dry, I mounted the transmitter using the provided adhesive tape. I pressed the unit to the door for about 20 seconds to insure a good bond. The transmitter fell off the door the first time I closed it. I used a common double-face foam tape, repeated the cleaning, drying and instillation. The transmitter has remained attached and worked well for over a week, so far.The second short-fall is the annoying short power cord on the receiver unit. As supplied it is only two feet long. This might work for some users, but not for me. Since I have certain skills, I opened the receiver, unsoldered the line cord, soldered in a longer (6 foot) cord. and reassembled the receiver. This cost saving by the manufacturer was very annoying to this customer.UPDATE, MARCH 2022:Well, after a few months of use, my mail carrier knocked the transmitter off the mailbox door (even with my revised foam tape mounting). So, today, I reinstalled the transmitter with four bolts holding it to the mailbox door. The manufacturer should consider providing a wider flange with bolt holes. As of now it is only trapped between pairs of bolts. Also, the alarm sounds mailbox door is opened or closed. OK, that is as specified. But it means that the alarm is triggered when we put outbound mail in the box and sometimes I forget to reset the inside unit. I can envision a transmitter that is only triggered on the closure of the door and the addition of a button on the transmitter that temporarily disables it for a minute or so. This way outbound mail could be placed and, with a tap of the button, the mailbox could be closed without the spurious alarm event.

🙂 The mailbox device will need you to comprehend the instructions. It is held in place with double sided tape. The receiver unit did not work at first as our walls were brick. I relocated the receiver to a window facing the street and it works fine. As the manual says it gives you a light that flashes if the mailbox is opened. Working great for my mom who was worried about leaving mail in the box all day. 5 Stars

The device does what I need it to do--with a modification. Installed, it does flash when the postman opens the mailbox. That's all I want. But the alarm was not to be endured, even turned down. I don't want to be startled. I can't see any product that's any different, though. A previous product (no longer available) could be modified by clipping the alarm wire. Not this one. But I found a workaround after the company failed to respond to my e-mail, but it may void the warranty. Two screws allow access to the inside of the base unit. A prominent, grey/black, donut-shaped component contains the beeper. I packed cotton into the small hole, added a little more to cover the component, and taped it down. Now, the beep is only a tiny squeak, quite acceptable if I can hear it at all. One more thing. The instructions are unclear about what "reset" means. I assumed that the red light would turn off, but it stays on. The flashing just stops. That seems odd, but it's OK. Maybe my modification modified that too.

This is really great if you live in a rural area and have a long drive. It will let you know when the mailman opens your box to put your mail in so you don't have to make multiple trips to the mailbox for nothing. Set up was super easy.

Product worked well with mailbox about 150ft from receiver. Maximum receiver volume should be adjustable higher but is adequate in the same or adjacent room. We have a steel mailbox and needed to mount sensor on outside of door. Batteries lasted over 6 months, uses 2 AAA cells. Stopped working after 1 yr. 8 mo., looks like receiver failed as light cannot be reset and alarm never sounds. This was second alarm, first was different brand that lasted about a year. Buying another of these since it worked well as long as it did.

Our mailbox is about 75 feet from the house. I always hated going to check for mail, not knowing if the mail had been delivered or not. I bought this gadget even though I had several questions and doubts. It seems to work every day when the mail is delivered. I've only had it a few days but I'm impressed. It alarms when the mailman delivers and again when I retrieve the mail. 6 months later: The batteries have finally failed in the mailbox transmitter. The mailman was able to put mail in the box without setting off the alarm. I replaced the 2 aaa batteries and found that one was completely dead and one was still fully charged. Don't know why. I have loved this gadget for 6 months now and am glad that I bought it.
