Available in 12ml tubes, MaimeriBlu Superior Watercolors cover a glorious spectrum of 90 single-pigment colors. Carefully refined, respecting the very essence of each pigment, you can blend and mix your own vibrant shades without the fear of muddying your palette. Made with completely pure pigments delicately milled for uniform particle size, this finely crafted paint highlights your skills and allows for a limitless amount of layering, glazing and other watercolor techniques.

Exquisite Transparency
Pure pigments are blended with natural Kordofan gum arabic to create a product with a slight sheen and great adhesion, while glycerin provides flexibility and resistance to cracking or flaking. The crystal-clear nature of the binder ensures the pigments will radiate off the paper, even when highly diluted. Use glazing and wash techniques to produce an immeasurable number of intermediary colors, while allowing the white of the paper to show through and illuminate your work.
Staining Ability
These watercolor paints have a variety of staining levels across the whole color range. Staining refers to the pigment’s ability to remain on the page after water is added, meaning that it can never be completely removed from the surface of the paper. Some colors lift more easily than others, making for unique and varying results every time. Experiment with each color to explore the possibilities.
Granulating Colors
Of the 90 spectacular colors in the MaimeriBlu range of watercolors, 15 pigments have a natural tendency to granulate. This effect is desirable by most watercolor artists to create subtle textures in their work, and we have kept this natural quality for just that reason. If you desire to Increase this effect use a textured paper and a higher water content. These granulating colors are marked with a “G” on the tube.
Magnificent Pigments
Our single-pigment watercolor range includes a wide variety of pigment types. MaimeriBlu includes 7 cadmium pigments, 5 transparent cadmium shades, 11 cobalt pigments, 8 quinacridone, 5 phthalocyanine, 8 natural earth and ochre pigments from Italian quarries and 5 iron oxides. Also included are a handful of rare pigments that can achieve the unthinkable: Payne’s Grey, Indigo, Neutral Tint and Naples Yellow.

This color is out of this world. The color was enough, but there is something so smooth about this paint it is really dreamy. I'm no expert, my experience is fairly limited but I'm a huge fan. It's very very pigmented as well. the range of values is exceptional I think

Bright white watercolor paint. A lot of pigment in a dab. Adds a bright white and if painted directly from the tube works well even over other (dry) colors.

MaimeriBlu is a French company, and these are high-quality watercolor paints. I was very impressed with the flow and its interaction with the paper. Unique colors, as well! Lovely paint.

How can you not like the name of this paint...Dragon's Blood. It is dark, looks like dried blood.
