I have a 12 yr old makita oscillating tool and I've had a fair bit of random no-name pads and there is a huge difference, especially for vacuum sanding. These are worth it IMO.

I have found that the Velcro seems to wear down pretty quickly. That being said, when used with the dust collection attachment the dust collection works pretty well.

The major issue is it broke about 15 minutes into use. One corner of the sanding pad cracked and would then bend out of shape, preventing any pressure from being applied to whatever surface was being sanded.I was sanding an oak door sill that has developed hills and valleys from exposure to the weather. The pad worked flawlessly on the flat sections of the wood. But when I tried to get into the valleys by angling the pad to use just the edge of the sandpaper, it broke the corner off the sanding pad.It is entirely possible and likely probable that I was trying to get more out of this pad than it was designed for, and I stipulate that. This isn't as much of a complaint as it is a warning or simple FYI for those looking to use this pad to do something it may not have been designed to handle. It works great on a flat plane, just don't try to force it into detailed profile sanding.I will be looking for one that has an all-metal base.

If you want to sand into tight corners or just sand a large seam on a baseboard.Use a multi tool (Makita) that has a "Starlock" blade locking system with this accessory. This will save your hands and shoulders from the pain it takes to get it done by hand. And it will perform the task flawlessly in a quarter of the time.
