I help get supplies for our Sunday School classes and the preschoolers needed a whole bunch of TP tubes for a craft one week. I ordered these because I figured it would be easier to decorate and just look nicer with white being the background than the typical brown. They are much sturdier than the Costco TP rolls and have no residue to deal with. They hold the color of makers pretty well. The only downsides are that they cost like $.27 a piece and they are smaller than your normal tube which is free.I'm not upset at the cost today because the craft really does look so much nicer, but it will be hard to justify buying them in the future.

I ordered these with one craft project in mind — to make charcoal briquette starters for my BBQ grill. I don't want to use starter fluid because it can add a bad flavor to foods. These tubes hold up well as I cut each one into three pieces. A hacksaw blade works well. I have a small portable grill. A dozen briquettes are enough to cook for one or two people. Therefore, small starters are good enough. I glue a piece of paper to one end, fill the tube with a mixture of shredded paper and shredded paraffin, then glue another piece of paper to the top. One starter is enough to light a dozen briquettes. With the help of these briquette starters I am really enjoying warm weather barbecuing. Of course, I can buy starters, but these DIY projects make grilling more fun.

Well … I’m sure a lot of people are wondering why you order toilet paper rolls? They are stronger and nicely made, heavy cardboard tubes for crafts. I will be using these on my curtain rods to ensure a perfectly even pleat for my formal hanging drapes. It’s a great trick for having the curtains in any room look even and neat.
