It holds the marker in if the cardboard wrap is still on. You have to take the marker out to adjust more marker when you need it, because that metal rod doesn't push it out any further. Unless of I am not using it correctly. Because I don't get it. Unless there is something else missing. At work we use a rubber band on the end of the cardboard that holds the marker vs this thing. So is that what the trick is?

I bought these because I use the paint sticks a lot in the oil field. I hated dealing with the cardboard wrap the paint sticks come in, so I thought these would help. When I first saw them, I thought they would work in the same concept as those push down erasers we had in school. NOPE! Using this thing, you have to pull the whole stick out of the tube, either cut the cardboard or just push the stick further down in the cardboard, and then place the whole paint stick back into the medal holder. This product does not work for my needs.

i ordered 4 of these and description says 12 when they arrived instead of 48 pcs. i received 4.

Thing is junk the thumb screw stripped out and is expensive for no reason if it was 8$ it would be fair but 21$ for this junk is wild! Unsatisfactory
