I really just wanted the pipe to replace stock air intake. I ended up using the whole kit. There were no instructions and it was cheap but I figure its got to be better than I had. My stock MAF fit and it was the same diameter where it connected so it will work no problem. The filter felt cheap, I may replace it later. It was a tight fit. It is very large.

The pipe is perfectly formed to fit in the 90 degree, narrow space alloted to the throttle body on these trucks. This kit includes everything needed for installation including the mount for the mass airflow sensor. The heat shield is a nice touch, helping decrease the intake of hot engine bay air - I don't know that I would call this a true cold air intake kit, but it helps. This was perfect for my truck as the original air filter housing was damaged at some point and the rubber intake tube was starting to harden after 23 years. This kit takes less than an hour to install and opens up airflow nicely.

I'll start by saying just as others have... There are no directions in the box for assembly.It's basically a puzzle for big kids (adults).However, if you have basic mechanical knowledge of your vehicle, you'll figure it out. It took me about 30 mins to remove my factory air box and install this one.The quality could be a little better with the rubber fittings and the hose clamps are very cheap. I'd recommend getting better clamps but these will work if you're careful with them.It's a pretty tight fit. The filter cone itself, rests right up against the inner fender wall. I placed a piece of rubber matting between the cone and fender because on my initial test drive, the cone was smacking the fender so hard, I thought something was broken on my suspension.The piece of rubber is now a buffer between the two and works fine.As for function, I do admit that there is a slight noticeable difference in throttle response and acceleration. Don't expect large power gains from this intake, but you can definitely notice a difference after switching from the stock setup. It sounds kinda cool too when you really get on the gas peddle. You can hear the intake sucking in.I also have a Dynoflo exhaust with 3" outlet and resonator tip. My suburban had a nice rumble before, but it's much more prominent now with the upgraded intake.For the price point, this is a decent kit and a relatively cheap upgrade for your vehicle.

Priced very well, right in the market with similar parts and brand names for these parts, the filters are always the question marks when it comes to this and you can never tell until there are some miles behind it, but the durability and the build of these parts are right along the lines of where it should be so not seeing anything that would lead me to believe this will be an issue.
