I actually bought it to cover some vent holes in an AV equipment rack. I didn't need the adhesive backing in this case, as the equipment rack is metal. The adhesive backing peels off easily. Worked perfectly.

Really heavy duty, too intense for fridge magnets, use something cheaper and lighter

Tried to use for car decals. When unrolling the magnet, the sticky side left wrinkles which was not good to make decal magnets with. Not worth the money if this is what you plan to do.
