Frankly, I have no way of knowing whether thes filters work or not, but I have no reason to believe they don't do what they are supposed to. I did foolishly use a filter when I knew the local Fire Department was flushing out the waterpipes on my street. Without the filter, the water was an orange/brown color. When I used the filter, the water was clear, but there was so much material in the unfiltered water that the water flowing through the filter was reduced to a small stream compared to what the flow normally is. So, I guess the filters work, and I of course put a new filter on right away.

It’s hard to say whether these work. The name brand Pur filters restrict water flow as they filter. These however, seem to allow excessive water flow, therefore I’m not sure how well they are at filtering the water. The water tastes clean and filtered, there was a lot of cloudy water when first installed however, much more so than a Pur filter..

This was advertised it’s a filter that would fit all Pur faucet device. I was looking for a Max ion filter. When I installed the filter, black water came out of the device and it would only flash red and not green.This was a package of three and I tried two of them with the same result. I have no return label to Amazon and am not sure how to return. Very disappointed.

PUR filter was installed after renovation work was initiated in my office building causing rust in the water lines.Product was delivered promptly in good condition. After installing the generic replacement, the first thing I noticed was that the volume of water dispensed was much higher than the volume from the OEM filter; consequently, I don't know how much filtration is actually occurring. I regret that I failed to open the OEM filter before I threw it away, but I will open the current filter installed after replacement to see how much/what type of filtration is being used. Update: Filters use charcoal for filtration.They seem to work okay, but the individual filters do not last 3 months; these three have lasted for a total of 5 months. Pretty much daily use, but I doubt if the daily volume is much more than a gallon.
