I still use my 15-year-old Panasonic VCR for recording TV shows to watch later (especially useful to record interesting/entertaining PBS shows during pledge week, so that you can skip by the "pledge ads" while watching the program). It's not that easy to find places that carry VHS tapes these days -- I really like Amazon's large selection. Maxell makes great tapes -- again: good product, excellent price.

We have a dual VHS/DVD player and I like using VHS tapes for temporary taping. I find they are more user friendly. VHS tapes do not seem to be on store shelves anymore so I am glad I can find them on-line. I purchased the Maxell hgh grade because they seemed to be the best buy. I have taped, and overtaped repeatedly and they perform very well.

Decided to stock up on blank tape while I still have the chance. I haven't made a VHS recording in years, but still play a lot of pre-recorded tapes. I decided that I should have a few blank tapes around just in case the DVD/HDD machine died for some reason. This actually happened once already. I didn't want to get the budget quality tape at the local discount store, so I opted for some decent Maxell High Grade like I used to get.

My mom loves "The Walking Dead" TV show, and I love it too. Since I don't have cable, and mom doesn't have DVR, she videotapes new episodes of the show so that I can see them, and so she can rewatch them over and over until the DVDs come out. Yes, this is the sweetest thing ever. So I bought new VHS tapes for my mom for Christmas. I also just upgraded her VCR. We are so retro.

Tape is loose. Rewinds like it wants to break. Disappointed.

Can’t really write a review of this pack because I was hoping that when my VCR was repaired I would have brand new tapes to transfer many of my DVD. Unfortunately the insurance company (Asurion) considered it a lemon and the machine was never returned. So not one of the new VCR tapes were opened.I have however used this brand many times before and they are highly reliable. That is if the VCR doesn’t eat them

VHS tapes are becoming so hard to buy. I was glad to find them on Amazon. They arrived sooner than I expected and are exactly what I needfor my old VCR. They are such a great quality that I am always pleased with what I tape, and I can use them over and over.

I have used Maxell tapes for 30+ years so I was surprised at the exceptionally poor quality of these tapes. The 8-hour tapes are equally as bad as these 6-hour ones. They are now made in Korea instead of formerly in Canada and that might have something to do with the serious decline in quality. After 1-4 uses the picture rolls on the screen and cannot be resolved with tracking controls, there are severe dropouts and the tape mechanism makes so much noise that I honestly thought that my VCR was destroyed and I would have to buy a new one. I checked some of my other new Maxell tapes and most of them had the same results. I tried a TDK tape and was relieved to find that my VCR was still functioning perfectly so I threw out all of my new Maxells and am now using TDK and Sony tapes, which work just fine. I am so disappointed in Maxell but I guess they don't care about VHS tape quality anymore.
