Bought for my 1983 ranger. Took a little monkeying around to get it to sit level and straight on both racks. Seems nice and solid now that it’s on. I modified the removable rack portion to sit lower…I just cut 10†off the bottom so it would sit closer to the cab top and not somewhere off in space. Looks very cool and is very functional! If you know how to use a drill you can get this installed in under an hour.

Good quality product, but definitely doesn’t fit all trucks. Check your bed sidewall height and your post mounting details at front and rear (different manufacturers provide different mounting configurations). This product did not work on my 2012 Ram 2500.

I’ve seen quite a few complaints about this rack, but I have few. It’s easily removable with an Allen wrench, it took me about an hour to install due to looking for just the right placement, removing the plastic Bedliner (which I later cut and reinstalled) and drilling all the holes. But all in all it was simple. This is perfect for an older truck that has the exposed lip on the bed caps. If you have a newer truck like a newer ram with the ram box or something with flush bed caps, this will be a next to impossible install. But take a look at my photo and see where the top mounts are installed. Right in the lip where it folds the bedsides together.My only complaint is that the little Allen bolts tend to fall out sometimes. I have to re tighten them each time I pull off the ladder because retightening the ladder down the racks will move and the bolts will lose their grip. Not a big deal. I’ll just use some Teflon tape next time. Just a minor inconvenience but for $100, I can’t complain much.

This will not fit a 2024 F250 even with the extensions. There is no way to attach the bracket that holds it to the side of the bed, while allowing it to clear the top rail. I waited until things slowed down before I tried to install so now I'm outside the return window. Since 2023 and 2025 have the same bed, it will not fit those either.

I have a Ford F250 SD 4x4 which requires the two-piece extension adapters. Don't waste your time with the chinsy hardware they supply for attachment to the truck bed. Its very soft Asian steel. Get quality bolts and buy jack nuts with an installation tool to eliminate trying to hold a lock nut where a man's hand doesn't belong. Next, when you have figured out which hole you need in the two-piece adapter for the correct height in your larger truck bed you will have to cut the lower base pieces above that hole but below the unused next one up. This is because the slide-in rack has to rest at that position to allow the lower set screw to make contact with it. Otherwise the rack will be very sloppy and loose. After that is cut on the front and rear adapter base pieces you will have to cut the bottom of the slide-in rack pieces to get the height you want above your cab roof. I'm sure this sounds ridiculous but believe me, if you don't do what I'm trying to explain before you adjust the rack height you will have a shaky, sloppy ladder rack which doesn't slide deep enough into the base to be held by the second set screw. I had to take it apart twice but it is pretty solid now. Hopefully I explained it well enough for you to avoid multiple installations.

Easy to install and the mount design will conform to most beds. Drill 6 holes, and you're done. It's sturdy, and doesn't squeak or rattle. It's solid. I've been using mine for over a year and no issues. I strongly suggest using larger and THICKER washers under the nuts, because they will rip right through the sheetmetal! I ended up cutting out a couple of 2mm steel rectangles to go behind the sheetmetal. The washers they include are too thin and just bend.

Installed on '99 Chevy Silverado LWB. Once installed, I am very happy with the sturdiness of the rack. Though it is not the fault of the rack or the manufacturer, the install was not very easy. Let me point the finger at GM first. I realized after many years that the top rails of my bed are not exactly parallel to the ribs in my bed, and apparently that's the way GM designed it. So, you're gonna put on the old thinking cap and probably hit up the hardware store for some longer bolts and get ready to tap some new holes in the base plate. I also had to mount the front upper mounting bracket so it contacts the smaller upper tube, not the intended lower tube, which require a longer bolt. Again, not the fault of MaxxHaul. Just the way GM designed my bed.

Bought for Colorado 2016. Truck box was too high for the short insert sleeves, so I welded a longer L bracket to the bottom to even the height to the box. I used nut inserts into the truck bed, not supplied. And the ladder posts were too too tall for my liking, so I cut the bottoms off about 5â€. Last, to have a stop for the ladder, I welded one of the 5†pieces to the center of the front post. You know, the horizontal flat your ladder rests on.Also, it comes with set screws and a hex wrench to fasten the posts to the sleeves. That’s crap. Unless you plan to just leave them permanently installed. I rethreaded the holes to fit eye hook bolts so I could use my fingers to tighter or uninstall the posts.So yes I had to modify them, but they fit the way I want.

Great product for the price. Strong built and easy to install, only 3 bolts per pedestal. However, drilling of 6 holes of 3/6'' is required. I use it mainly for kayak transport and it works fine.
