I would always get eggshell when I tried to crack open a raw egg. I used another reviewer's tip, and sharpened the edge with a rotary tool. (You could use a hand held file) Works perfectly!

This product is easy to use and the quality is great as well. We used it crack eggs to make confetti eggs for Easter and it made the project fun and easy.

This product works great. I gave 4 star. Reason is for soft boil eggs opening is not wide enough for regular spoon.

Bought this to start saving eggs for next year’s Easter. It works depending on how much force you pull back. If I’m in a hurry I’ll let it be with more force but also tends to break the egg all the way down. Eventually I’ll find the trick to it. Also challenging holding the egg with one hand and positioning the gadget with the other, then pull it while holding both in place. Lastly it gets hand washed and dried but still gets some rust.

This is not the fault of the maufacturer; the design is not the right one for opening soft-boiled eggs. Better to use the round scissors/cutters to open. This device shatters rather than cuts
