From the Manufacturer
Double it up - Ideal for sharing or multi-family units. This classic will stand the test of time and the test of kids. Mayne mail posts install easily over a standard 4 by 4 wood post. Bury about 2-3-Feet in the ground and leave 4-Feet above the ground. Slide the decorative sleeve over the post, assemble the paper holder arms and attach them to the post, then secure your mailboxes of choice to the arms. Mailboxes can be bolted directly to these arms using a standard nut and bolt combination.

Looked high and low to find a new mailbox post for my neighbor and I to share. Originally I had made my own out of cedar but after 20+ years it had started to show its age. When I started researching either making a new one or finding a manufactured one I was disappointed in the selection out there. Either they were cheap and unattractive or they were really expensive. I wanted a material that was durable, no maintenance , and looked great. Finally I found this one and I am glad I did. Installation was very easy, just sink a treated 4x4 in the ground (I added cement around mine) and then you slip the mailbox over the top of it and install a couple lag bolts and your done. The end result is a very sturdy and attractive mailbox. I added a couple aluminum mailboxes to the post to finish it off. My neighbor was very happy with the results and I have had many others ask me where I got it. I have had it installed for over a year now and it still looks great. Highly recommend this one.If you found this review helpful please let me know by pressing the helpful button below. The two boxes arrived together. It was easy to assemble and all parts were there. We are happy customers .

Over all I love this mailbox post. I was expecting the plastic to be more flimsy, but its actually pretty sturdy. The post fits nice and snug over a 4x4 post (as long as its tall enough!) I used an existing post and just added 8" more to the top lol it's fine... if the post is not long enough the side arm lag screws won't go into wood and that's probably why some people said it's not sturdy?? Anyways one of my lag bolts were bent pretty bad.. kind of weird.. but I bent it back. Went in fine. Those are socket hex heads and the rest are Philip's screw heads. I was also missing one of the white screw caps... which sucks cuz I got a white post... obviously there was 4 black and 4 tan ones and 3 white .. :( I used one of the tan... The hardest part was trying to find a screwdriver or bit short enough to fit in the newspaper hole to screw that to the arms.. and screw the mailbox to the arm. Got it tho! I used a 3/4" thick trim board to mount the mailboxes because I didn't get the mount kits.. over all I really like this thing! Giving it 4 stars because the screw cap was missing and lag was bent, it was a struggle to mount the mailbox and there was a small scratch on the post. Other than that, love it!

Mayne products are always well-manufactured and look great. This order was missing a couple of screws, but I was able to get it to work.

I am VERY disappointed in my Mayne 5811-WH Rockport Double Mail Post, 18x23, White. It came damaged and nicked. The plastic even looks cheap. The edges are not crisp corners, they are deformed! So you got that going for you. I should have sent it back then and there.I spent the better part of the day working to assemble it. I am a reasonably intelligent person and this thing was a pain. None (and I really mean NONE, it's not just hyperbole) of the pieces fit together and you cannot use a "standard" nut and bolt combination for the mailbox...trust me I tried. 3 different standard mailboxes (and 3 trips to the store) none of the patterns matched up . If I used the nut and blot combo it would send directly into the paper box sides. One of the arms was so deformed I could not get a standard mailbox to fit over it so option 2 for installation was out...for now. After bending and forcing the metal on the mailbox I was able to just barely squeeze it on. I didn't have time for a 4th trip to the hardware store so it is being held by friction.I wanted to take it down and send it back, but I was heading out of town and I need a mailbox.Again, I am very disappointed. I would suggest getting a different stand.

The mailbox looks great. I gave it five stars, but a couple of small adjustments would make it better. First, the hole at the bottom of the mailbox that slides over the post is round. Posts are square. I had to use a sawzall to turn the round hole into a square so the mailbox sits flush to the ground. Had I not done that, the mailbox would not clear the bracket that stakes the post to the ground (for non concrete installs). Second, the lag bolt caps don’t fit very well. I’d recommend they change to hole plugs to cover the bolts. Other than that, it looks fantastic.

Easy install and definitely some serious “bang for the buckâ€. Other neighbors instantly wanted one. The postal carrier was also very appreciative.

The box pole was fine, even the newspaper holders were of good fit. There are propositioned holes to dill so that the box fits on to the holder. These holes were horribly of of where the sunken there bits were actually. I had to use washers and dril beside the propositioned holes that missed and they still didn't fit well so one has a cross thread bolt. It will last as I got 3 screws in but just sucks as it is sort of off to the right.
