Does what it’s supposed to do as long as you understand the base limits the game has on the Pokémon Go Plus device. 1 hour max time, speed caps, selections in menu, and priorities the game has on stops and mon. In this regard, it’s the absolute best. Also not that if there is any problem with your phone signal, it will disconnect. Here’s my one and only true problem with the device. With the silicone bumper attached I dropped it once, that was all it needed to break. I dropped it, and instantly it no longer worked, no lights, no Bluetooth connection, dead. I heard some rattling inside so I I immediately sought to find whatever piece was loose and glue it in place, assuming it had something to do with the battery connection, not so.So upon opening the device, i removed the battery contact assembly and unscrewed the circuit board and the rattling I discovered was a microscopic coil. I soldered it back on and life has been good ever since.I will note that the tools used were an electronics screwdriver with a tiny torque bit for the main case and a tiny phillips bit for the board, a soldering iron(the smaller the better)[I already had one and it was large and clumsy], electrical solder, and some wire snips. The two pieces of solder I used were only the size of the width of the solder itself. The coil itself was in the upper left of the battery compartment is faced down. I repositioned it were it fit snugly and soldered away at the contact points.Preemptively it might help to just superglue it. I don’t know that that will help though. Sorry that I didn’t take photos at the time, I was frantic.

The price tag on this caused me to skip over it for the Gotcha watches. But working stock in retail I ended up going thru one in 4 months and another in 3 weeks on my arm. This works much better cause I can stick it in my pocket at work where it is less prone to getting knocked around. It also connects quicker & better than a Gotcha Plus (tho it does have the issue of disconnecting after an hour). It does run on batteries, so I would recommend buying some rechargeable AAA. Tho it did last me almost a month on the first charge as opposed to the Plus that I would have to plug into the UBS twice a week.Another neat feature for the cost is being able to connect a second device. So I have been able to go out on Com Day or just walking with a friend and have him connect so he can auto catch & spin also. And for me as a player who grinds a lot, spinning tons of stops, this is an effective way to increase my Stardust, Shinys and run my game play either while driving or doing things in game or Ingress. It isn't free, but I think it is better than throwing away Pokeballs in mass. Not every throw is a catch, but a chance is better than no chance. So far I have owned this over a year & am very happy. The cost I can see as a major off-putting factor for people. But I figure if it can hold up better & I do not have to keep buying them like the GoTcha Plus, it will pay for itself in the long run. If you have the extra money & multiple accounts or play with someone who would chip in, I say give it a whirl.A note, apparently it can survive a gentle cycle in the washing machine.drew

I was sold on this thing the minute I read touch-less re-connection. I tend to play with two iPhones and there is nothing I hate more than having to tap and then tap my Gotcha and everyone else's to get them back to going, especially when you have to juggle more than a few. I essentially play the role of the keeper of the Gotchas and have them all on me to do the connection duty, namely on community days. I personally don't like wearing mine and I've had the actual device pop out of the band more than once. Especially in winter, what a pain! This dual Catchmon is great. You just shove it in your backpack, and go. No button pressing, no removing gloves and freezing your fingers, it just works. Absolutely no problem connecting to both phones simultaneously. I read some comments saying it is slower, but from my testing with the screen off I can't see a hugely appreciable difference in catch performance compared to the Gotcha when set to catch alone. I haven't tried it yet with catch and spin on at the same time to compare the results to a Gotcha but I can't imagine there's anything conflicting to slow it down. Now the best feature of a Gotcha is the rechargeable battery part. However as time goes on the charger gets a bit wonky and needs to be pinched and held to bend it tighter to hold the device securely. This uses 2 AAA batteries. You can solve the rechargeable problem instantly by just using rechargeable AAA batteries. I just keep a spare set of them in my bag in case they are needed but even using cheap Aldi rechargeables they seem to last quite a long time without turning the switch on the back of the Catchmon off. I've only changed the batteries once because foolish me put the ones that needed to be charged in and not the charged ones. I've had the Catchmon continuously on for a week and a half, active most if not all day (since its just press and go, totally effortless) and its still going strong. You can turn off the sound effects for this thing so that's a relief. It does have blinking lights that just indicate its connected about every 5 seconds. You can also turn off vibration so its rather inconspicuous when concealed. Its a pretty good sized thing though so depending on your pockets it might be a tight fit in something like skinny jeans. Seems too heavy to wear all day to me but that may not be an issue with other people. My only real grievance is the price. You can buy a brand new Gotcha trainer club edition that also supports two accounts for roughly $55 USD. This when I bought it was priced at $80. Is having hands free re-connection worth an additional $25 mark up? My impulsive answer is no, but I warble since it really is a nice feature. I will say I am interested in purchasing 3 additional ones to cover all of the family but not at this price. I would pay $60 at most probably, and actually am tracking to see if it hits that price point. For the price alone I had to remove a star, but this would be an easy 5 star product if it were more comparably priced to the Trainer Club Edition Gotcha. Overall do I do really like this product.

It has a small learning curve to first set up. After that it’s very plug and play. No issues with disconnect, seems well built, compact design. Batteries seem fine so far. Pricy for what it does though. I’m not sure why this can’t be built as a standalone app instead of a device. I don’t use the dual feature either. I imagine it works but who knows. I sit near three stops all day long and I fill up faster than I can catch stuff. Saves me the nuisance of spinning stops on walks as I’m already packed.

If the price was lower, i think everyone in our household will get one. My husband got one and it was easy to set up and caught many. He is so pleased with his gift. I borrowed it once to try pairing but it doesn't work with 2. Only 1 can pair at any one time. And I managed to catch a 4 star Woobat and a shiny. Too bad it can't work for 2 phones. But it's well worth buying. Hopefully there's a sale sometime.
