I work in education and was in need of something to help train on IV starts that was reasonably priced. This was a great choice. It allows for practice of IV insertion and allows you to do a flush to see if you made it into the vein. It doesn't have a reservoir that will show a flash back so being able to get the "blood return" is not an option, but it will allow you to do a flush with its drain for each vein that allows the flush to exit to show you had correct positioning. The product is sturdy and will allow for many attempts. This price can't be beat!!

They came on time has really good quality I think it’ll be great for practicing vein punctures it does have a slight latex smell because of the material that it’s made of but it’s not overpowering and it feels pretty realistic

I am a nursing instructor and got this as a portable IV practice pad to take with me to clinical. It's very helpful for students to practice on a few times using the actual supplies the hospital has on hand (compared to the school lab). I used the center "'closed' reservoir and added a dark pink food dye using a straight needle and syringe to allow student to get a flashback when they start the IV. This works great, but it definitely leaks out of the puncture holes with the increased pressure. (see photo for pink discoloration on the pad and tape+gauze where we had to plug the leaks). The blue ones with the open end are awesome for the students to practice the IV start, secure it down and actually flush it, hook it up to fluids and infuse, as all you have to do is put a towel underneath to catch the fluids. The only thing is you don't get flashback this way, so not tooootally ideal.If I wanted to be more particular about it I could use a catheter tip syringe on the blue "open-end" poke spots to instill the red fluid and then remove it to instill fluids, but that gets messy really quickly.We found that even just using the practice pad itself help the students practice that hand-motor skills a lot and gain confidence on-site before we give hands on care to a human.This tool isn't totally perfect, but for less than $30!! It's great!

I got my certification as a phlebotomist earlier this year. For my certification, I was required to have 100 sticks, which could have been done on people or a practice pad. I ordered this pad and completed 75 of my required sticks on it. If you leave fake blood in the "veins" overnight they will "blow" and you won't be able to use them again. It stains easily, leaks once punctured, and collects dust/lint like that is its side hustle. All in all, I was satisfied with the product, though. I practiced at the end of the open, green "veins" so that I was able to see when my needle was in the vein, but not puncturing the wall opposite of my insertion. These are typically used to practice inserting an IV, but worked great for helping me to get a visual.

I bought it for some practice before going to paramedic school, and it'll be a godsend to already have some practice when the time comes to do it on someone. The skin feels moderately realistic, although it feels too wiggly (like an old persons skin) and too firm (like a flexed muscle) at the same time. Overall, however, I highly recommend any medic/nursing student get this.

This product arrived quickly and well packaged. The skin felt very realistic but the vessels were like sticking pvc pipe with zero was no way to have feedback that you indeed got it in the right place. I am a seasoned nurse and have never felt vessels that hard to stick. May be good for practicing subQ sticks bc the flesh is very realistic but terrible for iv practice misty bc of the lack of any feedback. I returned almost immediately.

Loved this! I brought to lab to practice and all the students wanted to practice on it. It was a hit and definitely did it’s job. As a nursing student it’s always great to find things that can better your skills
