This was given as a gift to a six year old, and she loved it. She already had a similar set with a different theme and likes that one very much as well. Well made, and the small items (hats and shoes) are contained in the sectioned box with a sliding cover, so pieces are unlikely to get lost. Would recommend either set.

I got this for my 4 year old neice for Christmas and she LOVED IT! she set there and played with it for quite a while. the doll and her clothes are thick and sturdy enough to hold. There were so many outfit options and she wanted to show me all the different choices. I'll be sure to get her more like this for her birthday.

Bought this with some books as a ballet recital gift for my granddaughter and it was a hit. She is five and I wasn't sure if she would be too old for it but she actually enjoyed it quite a bit. It has many pieces, some of them quite small which could pose a choking hazard for a younger child. Good quality, fun creative play value. Bonus, the board slides on forming a top unlike many open Melissa and Doug play sets. Sound purchase.

Nice set. Both fairy and ballerina. Wooden lid has magnets to hold doll and swan. Just play with them right on the lid if child is too young or clumsy to keep plastic base from falling over. We only buy the sets with the slide-on-and-off wooden lids, with the exception of the Santa Claus set. That one is of the original no-lid variety. Just buy a separate plastic bin for it at your neighborhood store.
