Our granddaughter is really into horses right now and loves craft activities. This was the perfect gift for her recent birthday. She will enjoy painting the horses and displaying them in her room. Reasonably priced.

This is a review for Melissa & Doug Decorate-Your-Own Horse Figurines Craft Kit: 2 Horses to Paint.Years ago, I remembered painting little clay-like animal figurines my dentist would give out. It was so much fun!When I saw this on Amazon, I wanted to share that experience with my daughter. So, I ordered it. The price was right, and there were two (just in case my son wanted to try painting one).It was a hit with the kids! Both sat down right away to paint. These figurines have a lot more detail than the ones I had a long time ago. They also are quite sturdy, and now that they are painted, they look great. Not realistic in terms of colors, but great (that is not the kit's fault, my son is six and thought blue paint should be included...).This kit is a fun little craft for your kids. I will surely buy another, likely a different animal, from Melissa & Doug. That company seems to have high quality toys and crafts (we've been buying them for years and they always seem high quality).

Package arrived nicely, and in perfect shape to give as a gift for my 6 year old cousin.I cut the tape on the bottom, and wanted to examine the paint before giving it as a gift. I wanted to make sure it wasn’t dried up as in some of the reviews. The paint was packaged in a clear wrap and I removed that and opened each cup. The paint is fine :)I also took a picture with my adult hand for size reference. I did expect them to be slightly larger, but they are still worth the very reasonable price so I will not take off any stars for that. To a 6 year old, it’s probably around the right size.I will say I did notice the horses had a little scuffing on them but I’m not sure if that came through on the picture. It’s not really a scratch- more of a scuff. I will not take off stars, because that doesn’t really matter either if it’s going to be painted over.I will say, I’m not sure if I would buy this for older kids (say 11+ in age) just because the horses look slightly cartoony as you can see in the picture.All in all, I am happy and it will make a great gift, and it was a great price.

It’s a great entertainment toy for kids. My 2,5 year old spent hours painting the figures. The only disadvantage is the paints are so strong that we could remove them from our hands only with alcohol pads, water doesn’t help. Otherwise a great present!

this was given as a gift. The child LOVES horses and this was perfect gift for them. They loved painting it and have it on their dresser and the paint has not chipped. This is a great gift for children and/or horse lovers.

Great set for young artists and crafts lovers. Good quality figurines and paint. Paint goes on nicely, dries quickly and stays on. Enough paint to complete all 3 figurines.

As a mother of four children I often gravitate towards the brand Melissa and Doug crafts. I am often very pleased with their quality.My daughter also enjoyed it her pets turned out great and cute.she also got another craft for Christmas she loved it was a weaving kit you would also enjoy it to that is why I highly recommend it.
