My 3 year old has been getting into puzzles lately, but I wasn't sure how she would feel about a puzzle with letters. The first time we took it out, she did every card with little trouble! I loved watching her select and manipulate the letters. This offers great exposure to the alphabet in a fun and engaging way. The wooden pieces are sturdy and well made. The cards are a little larger than I anticipated. I love that it comes with a self-contained tray which is great for a Montessori style shelf.

This spelling puzzle is fun and educational, and designed to help young learners build their vocabulary and improve spelling skills. The puzzle consists of brightly colored pieces featuring individual letters that can be arranged to form simple words outside of the puzzle or it can be placed in the letter slots for the corresponding word/picture. It's visually engaging, with cute illustrations that correspond to the words, making it easier for kids to grasp letter-sound associations. We really enjoy this toy!

Bought this for my 2 year old's birthday and was a little dissapointed (should have read the reccomended age I guess) that the letters were so thin and a bit harder to fit in their respective puzzle spots than a chunky puzzle like she was used to. We tried it, but ended up storing it for a later age, as I felt it was still a bit above her.A few months later, we had the alphabet pretty well mastered and decided to get these puzzles out again. She LOVES them! She's got no problem fitting the letters in their spots anymore. At 2 years 7 months she has all of these puzzles mastered. Picks the letters herself, places them, then tells me the word. A great learning tool and I'm so glad I bought it!I gave four stars because1. As someone else mentioned, the letters just free float in their spot in the box, the storage is poor with no organization or lid to contain them and...2. Some of the letters are WAY too similar and I feel should have been cut a little different to teach that they're different letters. The "p" and the "d" look so similar and both fit in any "p" or "d" spot so now my toddler thinks they're the same you just have to turn it upside down and make it fit. A few of the other letters (I don't have it infront of me now and can't remember which exactly) also could have had a more defined shape, to make it more clear for little minds. The "a"s are hard for her as they look like an o with just a tiny tail on them. I think if they were cut in a different "font" it would have been nicer for toddler minds to distinguish difference. But the quality IS there just like with all M and D products and I would absolutely reccomend this set to friends!

I love toys and puzzles that help prepare my child for the future. Even though my little one is 1 1/2 years old, my child can already point out the letters O, A, E, M, P, S, and U. I love the durability of the Melissa and Doug products and this magnetic board is a hit with my child! The pictures and colors are great and no discoloration or damage! Skip the toys and head for the magnetics and you and your child can have fun playing with letters and sounding them out! Remember there is absolutely NO AGE LIMIT! Start as early as you want!

I purchased this for my 3 yo son. He loves it! He really likes being able to find the letters and fit them into the spaces for the words. I like the quality of the item, the word boards seem to be pretty sturdy, and there are a decent amount of letters included. One note - I did feel that the colored part of the letters (top) were not secured very well, more like stickers. I did take some time to coat the letters with a thin layer of mod podge to keep them secure.Overall, I am very happy with this product, as is my son!

Very sturdy wooden boards and lowercase alphabets. 16 words total. I liked that the boards were very smooth polished wood and very beautifully illustrated. There's a whole single set of alphabets a-z with extras for the more common ones like a,e, o etc. Very pleased with this purchase

Bought it for my 3.5 year old daughter to expand her learning of the alphabet and her love for puzzles. She has an ABC wooden board already and familiar with the pictures from this set so was a little unsure if she would be bored with it. When it arrived, she loved it!I was surprised how big the size of the board (did not read the dimensions before ordering) but realised its a decent size for toddlers to hold and also the coloured letters are perfect size (not too small or large) for my daughter's little fingers.I initially thought the pictures on the board look bit oldish style and need updating but that's me as a parent, my daughter didn't care! She eyes lit and smiles when she sees the pics and flips over the board (double sided). You receive 8 boards that's double sided, so that's 16 words (of 3 and 4 letter words). My daughter enjoys spelling her name with the coloured words and create new words (with her help of mum or dad) outside the wooden board.I do wish I ordered this earlier. It's a good investment.
