Got this water board because my little one is still a bit too young to color inside the lines and/or draw on his other free form stuff. I thought it would be nice for him to see some progress without needing much skill. On that front I think this kit succeeds although I wish it came with a few more stamps and stencils. You get two boards each with two different patterns so you get basically 4 patterns total. Then you only get two stamps, a paw print and a star. He seemed to like playing with the stamps best so I wish there was a bit more variation.The rest of the kit includes 4 scenes you can color in and a "free form" board attached to the back you can draw freely on. You're really just unveiling each scene's preset colors with the water pen, you don't have any choice for how you color it. Same with the free form board on back, the pen just reveals colors underneath although that's to be expected with this product. Each activity board has a backside with instructions on drawing different animals which is a nice touch.The pen itself is pretty easy to use, you fill it with a bit of water and you're basically good to go. Doesn't leak or really get water anywhere if you don't mess with it. Of course my son managed to pull the water tank out and spilled on himself. No big deal, just water, but where the tank screws in it doesn't stay secure. If you pull hard enough it easily comes out. Would be nice to have that stay in a little better.Overall this is a cute little kit. I'm not sure how much mileage you'll get out of it with the scenes being basically preset and the limited options for stencils and stamps. Your mileage will come down to your child's attention span and ability to use the freeform board on back.

As fans of the smaller water wow books, this was such a fun activity my kids loved! I appreciate the larger boards to paint and reveal, the stamps and the carry along case. We frequently take water wow books to church but often misplace the brush. This carrying case really made everything so easy to put together and since it doubles as a drawing surface it was perfect for my kids either on laps sitting at church or driving in the car. The quality is great and the paint brush and stamps work well. My four year old loves having her own little art set. I hope melissa and doug offer additional paint pictures and activities that my children can use and store in this case.

I ordered this set for my niece. It truly is "no mess" and very easy to use for her. The mostly leak-proof water pen and reusable boards are cost-effective compared to regular notebooks and colored pens. The set also offers some variety with different scenes, patterns, which she liked, and a free-form drawing area, plus helpful animal drawing guides. And the zippered case is really convenient.However, I found that the set falls short in some areas. While the limited number of stamps and stencils is understandable, the preset colors in the reveal scenes don't allow for much artistic freedom. The water pen's tank detaches easily. Additionally, the limited accessories and preset colors mean the set might not hold her attention for long, and the water takes a while to dry.Overall, it's a decent, mess-free option for short entertainment for young children.

This is a water painting kid's activity toy. The child uses a small paintbrush type pen to "paint" the water on the pages which changes to colors. It is easy to use and fun to play with. My three-year-old granddaughter had a lot of fun playing with this set. It has its own carrying case. The set has some different page that you can "water paint" on. The toy is affordable and well made.

I really wanted to like this multi activity drawing set, but it fell short on my expectations, especially for a Melissa & Doug item. I got this for my five year old daughter, who loves drawing and painting, so I figured this was a no-brainer. This set includes the drawing board, two stencils, two stamps, and four activity cards, along with the water pen. My daughter isn't necessarily rough with things, but this water pen seem to really fall short as far as the durability. It doesn't work as well as other sets that I've purchased in the past, and the water seem to take a long time to dry. If this was better quality, I would have given it more stars, as the concept is great, especially since these are no mess activities.

My son loves the traditional WaterWow books, so I thought I'd get this for him as I thought it was a "step up" from those ones. It looked like a neat travel take-along option for road trip or plane rides.Well....it's a decent product that my son does enjoy using, but it needs more stencils and stamps. It gets rather boring for him to only have two of each. There are 4 activity cards as well, that are similar to the books, with pictures to water-paint on, but you can only "paint" the same picture so many times. He loves the stencils and stamps, so it'd be nice if more were included.

We have so many wow water books but this product is even better. I love the bigger canvas for the water wow products. It's so easy to keep it in the canr and let my kids draw on it in their car seats. It's a great screen free alternative. It works like all other Wow Water products just with multiple and bigger canvases.
