Ok, so I just received this vest. And since we're still a ways away from the heat of summer, I haven't had an opportunity to actually use it yet. But, I did check it out and try it on. The mesh fabric is soft and comfortable against my skin. I'm a smaller guy that usually wears a medium shirt. But, I knew this needed to be tightly fitted to work as intended, so, based on the sizing chart, I ordered the size small. And what do you know? It fit like a glove and is comfortable. Of course the mesh is of a stretchy material so there is some leeway in sizing. From my experience, the sizing chart is correct, but just remember, you don't want this to be loose and baggy, and it is stretchy, so if in doubt, or are sort of in between sizes, I'd recommend ordering down rather than up in size. While I'm NOT looking forward to the summer heat here in Georgia, I am looking forward to having the benefits of this cooling vest.If there's one negative about this setup it is that while the vest has four pockets for cold packs, they only included two. There are two pockets situated low on the abdomen, on either side of the central zipper, and two more, stacked one above the other, high on the back. I think the two back ones will provide the best benefit, and that's where I intend to use the cold packs. But, if they had provided four, I think it would have offered even more potential cooling effect. Not a huge deal, and I'm sure I can find some cheap generic cold packs of the correct size to fit. But for the price, I think they should have tossed in a couple more since we know they cost well less than a dollar each. For this reason, I give it four stars. If they had included four cold packs for a four pocket cooling vest, I would have rated it 5 stars.

This vest has large holes with fine mesh to wick moisture off your skin and promote its evaporation and cool you down. It has two large internal pockets to keep you items safe while going hard during your workout. There are two large mid-line pockets in the back that can hold the two included reusable ice packs, or other essentials. My only gripe with this vest is the "female left handed" zipper. I normally wear a size small, but got a size medium instead. Warning the vest is pretty fitting, so your chest muscles as well as your keg belly will show.

Although the size chart pointed me to a Large, maybe I should've sized up to XL. The vest fits like a close-fitting mesh base layer, which I suppose is good so you can ride with this thing on underneath a summer weight/fit jersey. The two pockets on the outside of the back are loose enough that I can pack/unpack the cold bags without too much difficulty while wearing the vest. The front pockets though are on the inside (presumably to keep the cold bags from falling out while cycling?), but that makes it a little difficult to zip up the vest when loaded. So an XL might have been better, or I need to lose some belly fat :-).The two back pockets are set one above the other much higher than jersey pockets normally are, so there should be minimal interference in accessing jersey pockets while riding with this vest loaded up with cold packs. And would it make more sense for this to be white to be cooler in hot weather? I've never used a black summer-weight base layer (black throughout, not "cold black" that has a white layer against the skin), so what do I know.I can't wait to try this out in 100F temps and 100% humidity. As it is, I won't have much opportunity to test this vest for its cooling purpose in the middle of winter. I'll revisit this review in a few months when it gets hot (though it might be in the mid 70s F next week, just days after we had an arctic blast holding temps in the 30s F !??!From what I've been able to examine though, the (left-hand) zipper is easy to engage and operates smoothly. The main seams are lock stitched so that's good, but the pockets seem to be held in place with simple straight stitches. I hope they last, especially with heavy cold packs pulling on them. One weird thing--this listing for a cooling vest includes a photo of Chris Froome kitted out for cold weather cycling. Is that suggesting this vest could be used for warming by putting heat packs in the pockets? Or did Froome need to cool down further even in conditions that has him wearing arm warmers, leg warmers, booties and full finger gloves?

Sizing is a bit small. I wear an extra large and it is the size of a medium to large. So doesn’t fit. It’s ok. Only comes with 2 ice pacts but has room for four. It’s lightweight and semi functional. Wouldnt use it to go running. But a hike would work fine.

Very thin mesh fiber, I am concerned that any twig could rip the mesh. The four pockets for holding the gel ice packs (they supply 2) are a bit large so the bags move around. There is no closure for the pockets so if you bend over too far, while stretching pre-run, the ice packs can easily slide out. Wearing this as a base layer with a tight fitting running or biking shirt over it should minimize this problem. It does a pretty good job of wicking sweat so you do stay cooler when using this as a base layer. I wouldn't wear it without another shirt over it because it looks very odd. For me this is a bit overpriced for the lower quality stitching and sloppy looking ice pack pockets.
