I bought these for help with drawing hand poses and they aren't much good for that.Each of the fingers is ball-jointed, like a old-fashioned puppet's hand and can be moved a *little* bit.Just a little.Because of the joint's are carved in a more nested sort of way, the fingers lack the mobility of a more modern ball-jointed design. You can't tilt the fingers outward, or even rotate the thumb joint very much.This make simple poses- like a basic fist, or a "peace" sign, next to impossible to make with these model hands.It's a shame too because the fabrication and the finishing on the wood is really well done. They can hold some very rudimentary positions once the fingers are bent and even stand upright on a desk unassisted.I think its back to mirrors and cameras for my art practice.For every one else: these hands might make some cool ring, necklace or trinket holders for your wardrobe.

These are very nice. High-quality joints that move easily, but hold in place. I am using these as props for photography and think they work well. I do wish that it gave you a pair, meaning a left and a right, but that's ok.
