I am a trim carpenter by trade and have used Hitachi slide saws for years. I thought with Hitachi being bought out by Metabo I would lose that brand. But Metabo kept the exact specs of this saw and just put their name on it. If you’re in the market for a 10†slide compound miter saw that’s easy to carry into a job, set up, tear down and can ride around in your work van while still keeping its accuracy, you can’t go wrong buying this saw. They only change I make is to buy a 60 tooth carbide blade ($39.00 at Home Depot) for it, the blade lasts for many whole house jobs and the saw will last for years of daily use

This Model saw is discontinued and not compatible with any miter saw stand on the market including there own Metabo brand universal miter saw stand. therefor you would not want this saw for taking to a jobsite, that said it would be a fine saw for a shop on a fixed bench.

not terrible, but the quality is no where even close to the older hitachi saws. for what it is, its a fine saw but false claims of quality. out of the box it s no surprise that it was slightly out of square( easy adjustment), but the fence is not aligned, and same with the deck, had to disassemble nearly the entire saw and replace fasteners that were stripped and not all the way tight, or were too narrow allowing the plate or fence to slop around. really surprised me that anyone would compare the metabo to the hitachi, i guess they are both green.

Idk if it was the factory or the delivery but it came beaten up the handle was broken and the frame seems bent inwards. If I lay a board across both fences there’s a gab in the middle where the blade would cut. I unfortunately couldn’t replace it because I needed a saw and couldn’t wait to get a replacement.

I have been using "this" Hitachi miter saw for many years. I own a custom carpentry business, I make a living doing crown, stairs, kitchens, so for me everything starts with my saw. I purchased the new saw in July, shortly after the change in name. The ad said "Same saw, new name", don't be fooled, they have cheapened this saw to the point that it is a lesser version of what it used to be. Looking now for a different maker for my next saw.

This Brand is really good actually, I work with one of these machines daily and I decided to buy one for myself. The problem is when I opened the box I could see the blade was hitting the table insert even when all angles were at the 0, the blade is off of the center for 1/4. Another problem is that the miter is not sliding at all, even when the bolt is loose. I don't know how this miter passed in inspection, I don't think Metabo should treat their customers like this.
