First the stand didn’t have all the holes finished drilled for the legs. Second the oil thermometer was off by 60 degrees. I noticed the oil didn’t look right and decided to use two more thermometers for verification and they both showed the oil was 60 degrees hotter almost ruining dinner and potentially causing the oil to flash if it got hotter.

The meat thermometer was bent when we got it. My husband hit it with a hammer and it worked. It may have been due to a packaging mistake.

If you're like me and you wanted to deep fry turkey for the first time but realized you have to purchase all the necessary equipment, this is one of the best starter packages available. It comes with the turkey hook, a thermometer, the burner stand and the pot. As long as you stick with a 19lb or less turkey, the pot will be perfect. The pot itself has a measure line for the oil. The burner stand requires some assembly which was a little difficult to understand but there were some pictures that gives you an idea of how the stand should be assembled. I had to search on the internet of how the final assembly would look just to be safe.The propane burner has a safety mechanism that shuts off the flame after about 15 minutes for those users that expect to just walk away from deep frying without supervision. The safety mechanism gives you a warning light that 15 minutes are almost up but you can press this button again to reset the 15 minute timer. The safety mechanism requires 1 AAA battery to function. Make sure to order a AAA battery before you start frying, a battery did not come with my package.The pot is very flimsy, almost like a mildly thin aluminum grade so it may be used for at least a couple years or several uses but the pot can be easily replaced while the rest of the package can be used for years to come.

This was great for my first deep fried turkey was more then adequate for my 20 lb turkey and the safety feature was easy to maintain just hit the red start button and it resets. I was a bit paranoid about sturdiness but it takes a lot of force to knock this thing over. Overall super happy with this purchase I highly recommend it..

Got delivered damaged. It was delivered the day before Thanksgiving so I had to improvise and use a hammer to bang out the pot so my turkey would fit. Just poorly packaged or handled. Everything else did it’s job but I was worried with the weight of 3 gallons of peanut oil and my 19lb turkey, that the base next to the flame was going to warp because it was glowing red. The position of that part of the frame is too close to the flame and that should be corrected.
