I was replacing a fan from a previous restoration so I bought the mounting and the controller. It turned out that both of these fan manufacturers use the same pieces, so only used the fan. this mount looked easier and stronger than the previous installation would have been. If I need one in the future, I surely will reorder this exact one.

First of all, this thing ought to cost about $14. The $45 to $55 prices I've seen are just ridiculous given what this thing is. Second, it was not designed such that there is any flexibility in how you can mount the fan to it. The only slots for bolting on the fan are the two small ones (on each bracket) that are on the tab above the big decorative holes. Since they are so small, there is no flexibility in where the bolts can be placed. In other words, the fan was designed to go on there one way and one way only. So you better make sure yours will fit on there and into the space on the radiator before buying it. But really there's no way to know until you try it. I would just skip this option and mount it some other way. This isn't worth the price or the headache.
