I have started using tempera paint sticks with my Posca pens where I need a larger flood of color without going through half a paint pen. They work great! They have beautiful, smooth colors, quick drying time and a super cute carrying box where you can see all the colors! The only thing I noticed when swatching colors is 2-3 don’t exactly match the barrel. But they’re a great, affordable, medium. They feel like you’re drawing with lipstick. I am an adult using these in my sketchbook. If for a child, I will note they might get a little messy because most likely a child wouldn’t wait for a drying time and may smear them. They are quick drying, just not like a crayon. Highly suggested along with the more “glue stick†style tempera crayons out there. These have more control.

I was looking for a mess free, good saturation medium for my kids. These are easy to use, a good size for their little hands, and the colors are great. The best part is, there’s relatively no mess! I would recommend and buy again!

These are great for what they are...but what they are NOT is tempera paint sticks. Tempera paint sticks normally dry within 1.5-2 minutes. These do not. Tempera paint is permanent once dry....these are not. They remain movable and water soluble even after drying. What these ARE is gel crayons. I purchased these thinking they would be fine tip tempera paint which is a very different thing from gel crayons. I will keep them as the color range is nice and has some unusual colors compared to other gel crayon sets that I own. But I am highly disappointed because I thought I was getting one thing...and it turned out to be entirely different. VERY misleading description of the product being sold. If this were marketed as a gel crayon set, I probably would have given it 5 stars. As a 'faux' tempera paint stick set...it warrants only 3 stars.

Love these Dry paints. Easy to use and very smooth going on to paper. Clean up easy.
