I've used a condenser microphone for years and am used to being able to talk into it from several feet away, so when I switched to a dynamic microphone, it was a huge change, I don't like having to put my mouth inches away from the microphone, so I decided to give this a try and it definitely works. Now I can sit back and talk once again. So basically this turns your dynamic microphone into a condenser mic.

Great little booster should you need one. I was using this with a shure dynamic mic and to record on tirs absolutely crucialTo have a booster. I think the name brand they copied from is called cloud something. But they nailed it at a fraction of the clouds price. It gives it a 20 bump. I wish you could dial it on the hardware but oh well, that’s what we have dials for on logic. I guess. No, I think it should be on the hardware too. Also an on/off would be nice. But it works great and without noise for dynamics in the studio.

This does everything the cloud does but at a fraction of the cost! I'm so thankful that someone put me on to this. My recording sessions have been sooo much easier, faster and better. I can get a level with ease. It's not finicky. I cant believe it exists. if you have been eyeing the cloud, THIS is your ticket!!!

Did not think this product through very well. The connectors are on the back of the chassis and should be on the front panel. Only XLR jacks have Phantom Power on your mixer and you have to plug the output of these preamps into a XLR jack on your mixer that has Phantom power to power the preamp? What?To be practical, the preamp jacks need to be on the front panel, and the amps should have built in Phantom power to power the system so the system can be used for a multitude of applications and not just a useless specific one. I had to modify the system with a built in 48VDC phantom power supply.

Great little unit for getting more gain level for Podcast mics. Priced great and plug and play. Make sure you have 48V phantom power in order to work.

This definitely boosts the signal, giving me more than I need, which is fine. After all, that's what volume faders are for. Far better to cut the volume than have to still boost it and wind up with a higher noise floor. The only drawback for me is the fact that, in order to power this thing, you have to send it phantom power from an existing preamp, which sort of nullifies one of the four inputs. I got this to augment an interface with 8 inputs, but only 4 preamps--the other four were 1/4" inputs, and getting XLR to 1/4" cables, of course, didn't cut it. The signals were too weak. It's obvious in hindsight, but building a home studio is an exercise in self-taught techniques. So I got this thing, except that in order to make it work, I have to use one of the existing preamps in my interface to power it, which still leaves one of the 1/4" inputs without a preamp. Don't get me wrong, this still expands the usable number of inputs now, but there's still one left over, which is frustrating. Mic math aside, this preamp does exactly what it claims to do: boost the signal significantly.

We purchased this to get more volume out of a Shure mic that was too quiet for our PA system, and wow this did the trick. We now get excellent volume from the mic without any speaker hiss. Fantastic, low-cost way to boost the volume coming from a microphone. 10/10 would recommend.
