Had an expensive rack to transport my bike but needed a way to transport multiple bikes now that the kids are old enough to go mountain biking. This works great. Easy to mount/unmount (less than one minute on and off). Easy to load and secure bikes. Chose this one because I liked the extra padding where the bikes contact the pad. I have a 2016 GMC Canyon and the smaller size fits great. Able to securely transport five bikes. Pad goes low enough over the back to protect the tailgate from scratches. Has a cutout flap over the tailgate release so can still operate tailgate. Only negative is that it does block the backup camera which is near the tailgate handle on my specific truck. Have not tested durability yet but it seems well made so I don't see any issues with it holding up if it is used as intended. Great product.Follow up: Been using for about 6 months. Works great for mountain bikes or road bikes with wider down tubes. Tried it on my road bike which has skinny tires and an aero down tube and it would not stay upright. It kept falling to one side or the other.

Was tempted to go with a name brand for this pad and I’m so glad I went with this one! It’s perfect and can’t beat the price. We used it this last weekend for 4 bikes and eventually we will use it for 5 and I know it will still give the same support. I love the velvet side underneath on my truck tailgate, the straps that hold the bikes in place and the ease of putting it on and taking it off. Great product!

Used this to hold two mountain bikes in my old 2002 F250. Super easy to install (not sure why some people have difficulty), is well built, and looks good. Driving down the road, the bikes did not move AT ALL. Like nothing. I am really impressed but how well this works. Our two bikes are a Cannondale 29" and a Hit a 26". Drove miles at freeway speeds with no issue at all.Installing is super easy. Just place it into the trail gate in the down position and it'll come to you. If it doesn't, well, you probably shouldn't be riding a bike or driving a vehicle. Ha ha.

Bought this item so we could take our bikes with us on a trip down south. They held the bikes perfectly and met our needs.

Very good quality. Keeps the bikes pretty secure. If the bike down tubes are thin the retaining strap might not secure on tightly. It will still keep the bike frim moving. Have used it for a couple months and has kept my tailgate dent free. Would definitely buy again.

This was a good mid priced choice and honestly it’s the first tailgate pad I’ve ever owned but I can’t imagine a more expensive name brand version being any better than one. It’s solid!

I bought this for my Ford F-150. It was a little tough to install by myself, but after reading other reviews I learned the "easier" way to get it done (Lift the tailgate slightly to pass the straps through). This fit the length of the tailgate perfectly. The pad has great thickness and I have had no issues with the bike scratching or denting the tailgate.One of the best features of this pad that I didn't see on others that I looked at are the individual slots and velcro strap fasteners for each bike. I was able to stack 5 bikes and they didn't move, fall over or bang into one another during our trip. The one downside on this pad is the lack of a velcro strap or closure to hold the flap that goes over the camera out of the way. I just tuck it under and it still allows for bikes to be stacked over that area.Less money, better buy!
