For Christmas this year, my beautiful bride requested adding more shelves and adjustment options to our Kitchen Cabinets. The jig I purchased earlier included a 1/4" bit, however our cabinets use 5mm shelf pins. This 5mm bit functioned perfectly in the jig. Holes cut cleanly and was able to add shelving in the cabinets that brought a smile to her face!However, be sure to check and clear the cutting discharge slots regularly during use. Not all cuttings are fully ejected.

I ended up 3d printing a guide that worked great. It did become unassembled after many uses, but a quick reassembly and all was good! Shelves are still holding with 5mm pins.

I got the Milescraft jig with this and found the combination to be so quick and easy to use. I have an older jig I loved for years but two holes at a time is very slow. This really cuts the time to do a whole row and the depth stop was much better than the older collar I have used in the past. Awesome product!

i used this with the milesCraft shelf pin jig, the bit self centered in the jig, depth of hole is adjusted with the included allen wrench so all holes are the same depth, jig allows for perfect alignment. like others have said the wood fibers drilled out do tend to accumulate inside the bit, for me every few holes i just push up the spring action jacket covering the bit and hit the drill trigger briefly cleans it out nicely. just beware that it works better if you clean the wood debri out of the bit as you go and you should not have any issues with it.

If you came looking for this, it works. Be a bit careful if you haven't used one of these, the end of the bit is very sharp for tapping.

I drilled 90 holes before the drill started to woble and then it fell apart. The hex set screw just doesn't hold the bit in. Once it comes apart, good luck in getting it back together. Better off spending more on a higher quality tool.

The quality of the drill bit matches the 1/4†one and fits the jig perfectly. It stores o the jig in the second drill bit compartment. Perfect tool addition to the carpenter in your life.
