The Milwaukee M12 cordless palm Nailer came just a few days after I order it. I had some very tight areas to nail off on my new patio cover which I tied into the house right under the eves. It worked like a charm. I finished what I thougt would take hours with a small hammer in about 1/100 of the time. It took me about 3 to 4 minutes to hammer (1) 8 penny nail with a conventional hammer. I used the palm nailer and finished ths job in which (about 30 nails) in about 1/2 the time it took to nail the orignal one. The area I had to nail had about 8 inches of room. No problem for the palm nailer.I would recommend it to anyone. It even drove the 16 penny nails I had to nail as well.

Am in the process of installing over 400 joist hangers and ended up buying this guy. I didn’t want to run a generator plus an air compressor so I decided to go battery/cordless which leaves the Milwaukee as the only option, as no other brand else has a battery powered version. This is palm nailer, however, it’s not light like the pneumatic ones and weighs enough to get heavy after several minutes of continued holding. I have no complaints. The nailer works like it’s supposed to and reduces the amount of hammer swinging required. The nailer does vibrate a lot such that I found it was best to install 2 nails by hammer to hold the joist hanger in place before finishing the task with the guy. However, the 1.5AH battery that comes with the unit only lasts for a 4 joist hangers before it’s spent—in other words only good for 16 nails. I even bought 2 other Milwaukee M12 1.5AH batteries and they all lasted just the same. I ended up buying a couple of the 6.0AH M12 batteries for another tool but decided to see how they work with this nailer. And yes, the 6.0AH battery is the one you want for they lasted 4 times longer or 16 joist hangers on average before running out of juice. However, if your job is small and your only looking at 16 nails or less, then the 1.5AH battery that comes with the unit should suffice.

I have been using the M12 Palm Nailer for about a year for various small projects. For someone who is not swinging a hammer daily it makes nailing easy. It also helps in those tight locations where there is no place to actually swing a hammer. It does not replace an air powered pro nailer, but is great for smaller projects. I also have a M12 drill/driver and impact drill that I used as the primary devices to build about 1500 sf of low deck over the last year.

Tradesmen are always looking for a good tool and I would say this is a good one. What I do not understand is why it comes with only one battery. Wha? I never bought a battery operated trade tool that did not come with a backup battery. Some bean counter at Milwaukee is behind this and should be left in a locked room with people who purchase this so we can show him its many uses.Still, the battery lasts pretty long between charges and it will drive long nails very well. Those homeowner jobs that are sold in the big boxes do not compare to this. It is a real tool.

I have always enjoyed excellent performance from Milwaukee products until this tool. The nail head is machined off-center and is so loose that all but the largest head nails can become wedged in the nail-head of the tool.

Battery charged once then never took another charge=Frustrating. Worked well once I borrowed a battery from a friend. A little big compared to pneumatic but handy for occasional use. Drove 16 penny sinkers no problem.

I have a new construction plumbing business, and saw these things in the store. I was hesitant at first, then I tried one out and am glad I did. I usually use palm and framing nailers for backing and light framing, so having something that is cordless is great. One thing to keep in mind is that this is a little larger and heavier than a conventional palm nailer, but not bad. No more dragging out the compressor and hoses, and like all of the M12 tools that I have, this will last for years. I have other Milwaukee M12 and M18 tools, and with such high quality batteries and tools, I may never go back to the old Yellow or Blue brands again.

Great for nailing in tight spaces. Will drive a nail of 3" easily no problem. Noisy because of the hammering or pounding action but nailing in small place become much easier or even impossible with a hammer. Part of the M12 serie tool of Milwaukee. Very satisfied with the purchase.

It works better than expected for occasional tight spot use but don't buy it to build something with it. A hammer is faster. I tested it on a five inch ardox spike and it had enough power to put it in. Fits well in the palm. NOT good with round headed nails. Common 3.5 inch framing nails go in quickly and easily. Just don't expect it to do the job of a 20 volt or pneumatic nailer.
