I got this small Buddha board for my mom for Christmas. She isn't particularly artsy, but enjoys doodling occasionally, and I thought would like the chance to express herself in a way that just disappeared after a bit. I was right. This board and a small bowl of water have been sitting out in her home since the day she unwrapped it, and I believe gets daily or near daily use. Depending on how much water you use, your art dries up and disappears within about a minute or two. There is no trace at all left over. I have also enjoyed doodling on it several times, it's an enticing sort of fidget. Comically, my mom has reported that her most favored use of the Buddha board has been to write out her frustrations after some arguments with family and "no one has to know what awful language [she] used."I highly recommend this small Buddha board for yourself or for a gift.

Adorable! Great size for my son’s office cubicle. Wonderful conversation starter—colleagues can’t help but ask to try it out! My son is a phenomenal gifted artist who can not help but doodle all his life and this is gift was made for him! I plan to get him the larger version for Christmas!

This product is perfect for my meditation corner. It's small enough to not take up too much space, but still big enough to imprint your emotions onto the fabric. The brush that came with mine was rock solid so I needed to replace that, but that was my only down side. I use a separate water bowl instead of using the built in basin. This was just my preference because I think that I would make too much of a mess of it. This folds up into a neat, tiny square that can be stored away with ease. I keep mine out always. I usually try to paint something on there every time I pass it. I just find it very fun to try to keep it filled with ever changing designs. Overall, a good purchase.

"Be master of mind rather than mastered by mind."For some, buying something titled Zen and Buddha is enough to feel they've given a gift that says something about the person they want people to think they are and are not as close-minded as "others". For others, it really is Zen-ful. For some of you, it's neither.I bought this for some in-laws and for my yoga instructor for gifts for various occassions over the last few months. Everyone (well, except that one SIL that we all can laugh about) thought it was great fun and appreciated the simple pleasure of doodling for a moment, and then letting it go.Zen Buddhism emphasizes enlightenment through the knowledge gained through meditation rather than study of scripture of texts. "To a mind that is still, the whole universe surrenders." To quiet your mind for a moment, to detach from work, the gaggle of children running at your feet, or from the 1,000,001 other distractions of our day - even for a moment - is Zen.And if that doesn't work for you, it is useful for party games (quick sketch for Cranium), goofing off, leaving a quick and dirty message for your SO that will disappear before the kids see it, or hundreds of other fun uses. It is not good for grocery list making, the brush is too thick, and it's gone before you get to the store.A small, fun thoughtful gift is exactly the intention of this gift, and it earns 5 stars from me for doing exactly that.

Buying this for our toddler to use on a 5 hour flight was the best decision. If we hadn’t brought this, our entire flight would have been misery. It was the only thing that kept her occupied and still for more than 20 minutes straight. Best yet, we only added a smidge of water and when she did manage to spill a bit…no harm done with it just being water! Seriously, we would have lost our minds without this. Even her favorite shows on our phones didn’t keep her attention. Those intermittent 20 minutes of peace were everything.

I enjoy using this small format next to my living room chair and use it during tv commercials to create a quick temporary piece of art. The Water drawing cloth seems to be the same as what is used to teach children Chinese calligraphy, but in a nice package for quick storage. Comes with a brush and I prefer to use a small cup or glass for the water, rather than the tray in the case.

I painted with just regular water and the brush but I couldn’t get it to evaporate. Overnight it didn’t dry and into the next day I tried turning on a heater, setting it in the sun, painting the whole thing with water, dabbing it with a cloth, etc and it kept not fully going back to the correct color. Two days later I dumped a bottle of water on it even though it says not to oversaturate and then dabbed that with a napkin. That worked and it all finally return to the original gray color.
