The specs describe it as variable speed but is not variable without removing and changing the gearing around. There is no tool rest appropriate for wood turning. First time turning it on it threw the belt.

El producto es exactamente lo que se ve aunque unas partes son metal y otras plásticas me encanto aunque no lo usaré como un torno normal es justo lo que nesecitaba

This should be advertised as a kids toy. It came 90% already put together according to the instructions. Looked used and repacked for shipment to me. Please don't waste your time with this. GET A WEN!

Support des roulements a bille en plastique, le fabricant mérite la prison.Le manderin a 20000 rpm retenue par du plastique, devient un projectile avec une telle rotation et vélocité.

Don’t believe everything you read in these reviews, because I firmly believe some of them come from a place of inexperience. I’ve turned brass and mild steel, as seen in my photos I needed a specific tapered pin for an antique revolver, a 150 year old part that nobody manufactures anymore. It wasn’t quick, the finish wasn’t excellent without sanding, and I had to make some minor modifications to the jig to make it work better, however it did make a perfect pin for me. What you need to know is that this is what it is, it’s a budget hobby lathe. Buying this tool won’t come with the knowledge, experience or creativity needed to properly use a lathe. Machining is a trade board line science and art, it takes a lifetime, I’m myself an amateur, but I do have fabrication experience. Don’t buy this to turn production components for machinery. Don’t buy this to cut threads. This is a hobby lathe, as base model as they come, if you’re handy or skilled, and you need to make small hobby items out of soft material, and you have the time and will to work with what you have, this is a great little unit. I’ll use it for small parts and pins, turning hobby brass for models and model railway, and fixing my power tools. The summation, you get what you pay for, but you also get out what you’re willing to put in to it. It’s not machine shop grade, so go in eyes open, and get practised/educated, because all the fancy tools in the world can’t substitute for knowledge and experience.
