I am an avid hiker and have used this stool several times now. I typically day hike but I carry gear with me as I like to stop and make a snack or some coffee along the way sometimes, and this stool is perfect for setting up a quick camp. At just 1.3 pounds (according to my scale) and a small folded form factor it's perfect for throwing into my backpack. That little bit of extra weight makes sitting down to brew coffee or to enjoy a view all worth it to carry in my pack. The stool is small, I am tall and my knees bend while sitting in it, but my intention is not to sit all day an read a book, I just want my butt off the ground so I can work my stove, take pictures or just sit an enjoy a great view. This stool is perfect for that. I weigh about 230 pounds, and I don't know if I would put any more weight than that on it, but so far it's held up. I did have an issue with my first stool, a knot in the elastic popped and the chair no longer folded together, but the customer service team was quick to respond sending me a replacement right away even though I was outside of the return window. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a quick way to deploy a functional seat without adding much bulk or weight to their packs.

This thing is extremely tiny. Built for a child, not an adult. My advice, keep looking.-Phil

It in not really good for a person around six feet tall - it is small and compact - it's fine for my occasional use.

Very close to what I used at OCS back in the 1990s. Something to sit on in the field is worth its weight in gold. I don't have the stool sitting in front of me right now, but here's a few differences I recall:– the seat is slightly smaller and sits a little lower than what I recall from the Marines– weight is about the same– in the Marines, we strapped the camp stool to the back of our packs. This stool breaks down to be stowed in a small bag, which is included (note: it does not break apart, or separate into multiple pieces – the pieces fit, and are held together, in a similar fashion as tent rods)– there's a little pocket flap that's not big enough to hold much– where the Marine Camp Stool tubing was about 3/4"and hollow, this one is closer to 1/2" solid– the value seems to be there.I'm considering purchasing another one.

The cord that holds the chair together for storage was either stretched out or cut to long. When unfolded and assembled, the chair parts do not stay together when the chair is lifted from the top. If you don't move the chair but just sit on it, it stays together. This is a safety issue that the user needs to be aware of. My seat may not be representative of others. One additional note, I purchased a similar chair from another manufacturer and had no issues.

It’s one of the most compact foldable seats I have ever seen, that being said it is a very small chair I wouldn’t trust anything over 175 pounds sitting on it. It is very lightweight, it is incredibly easy to set up and fold back up. I take it with me whenever I am outdoors for a prolonged period of time, it practically takes no space in my bag, I will definitely be ordering another one to keep around for company.

Worked well for 48 hours on a camping trip. Legs broke on the third day of use.

Really like this one since how little space it takes. U can actually fit this inside of ur pack, instead of clipping it on the outside. Very durable and comfortable. Also has little pocket in it to put things in
