For those wondering about this item at the price ($55 when I purchased) despite the item descripton... I can assure you this is the real deal Eton Elite Executive Radio that generally sells for (way) "more".I bought two of these radios. I bought the second one after thoroughly checking out the first one.They arrived:- In a sealed box (does not look like it was resealed or a return)- Sticker on the box said "new"- Complete- No blemishes or scratches or fingerprints- I tested almost every function and band - fully functional.So, if you wanted an Eton Elite Executive radio but not willing to pay the typical retail price then this item is a no-brainer. Go for it.

Zero defects observed. This was the second Eton Executive Elite radio I bought in Amazons “refurbished†condition category and both came with the complete original box, instructions and power supply. I own a few other top end shortwaves and both of these checked out. The price was almost a third of the new condition price found on other Amazon listings/sellers.

This radio has all the features you want for shortwave and ham radio with fm am and aircraft. Ssb works well with external antenna

I've owned many small radios of varying technologies, and this one is by far the best I've ever had! Solid construction, great sound, easy on batteries, and darn good lookin' too! I'm a HAM operator and have more precise expectations for radio electronics, so trust me, thius is a solid radio. I won't bore you with all the technical reception tests and specs, just know that its a great unit!

I believe the radio is a good one. Unfortunately mine had a skipping frequency problem and had to be returned.

I am very impressed with this radio. It is very sensitive on SW and MW. Haven't had to use the external antenna wire yet. The whip antenna works very well. I also own an XHDATA D-808. The Eton Executive Elite blows the XHDATA D-808 away. The sound is so much better on the Eton Elite Excecutive to. It has very nice sound. I pick up a lot on the air band to. Get the Eton Elite Exvecutive over the XHDATA D-808. You will thank yourself.

Tengo muchas dificultades para que el Eton Elite funcione en AM -Short Wave, y esto me ha decepcionado ya que especÃficamente compre el radio para escuchar estaciones de Onda Corta (Short Wave). Además no trae audÃfonos ni antena externa. El manual no contiene una sección para resolver problemas de audición que se pudieran presentar como en mi caso. Fue una mala inversión. Por una decima parte de lo que pagué hubiera comprado un radio en México con AM y FM básico.

I use this radio to listen to air band (I’m 10-15 km from my local airport) and the sensitivity is excellent with just the telescopic antenna. The only thing I can’t really hear is the aircraft once they are on the ground, but the rest is loud and clear. Really fun if you also use one of the apps to track aircraft in the air like FlightRadar24. Menus are ok, it’s important to remember that this radio is loaded wth a ton of features so some complexity navigating them should be expected but nothing too hard to figure out. External antennas work well but even on SSB I can hear quite a few stations with just the telescopic one. Overall a great portable if like to listen to something else other than typical FM/AM.

I wanted a radio which was capable of pulling a not to distant FM station I was able to hear on my car radio, but not my existing portable unit. This was able to do that and report the RDS. It has a lot of bells and whistles and to be blunt... I had to photocopy the instructions and keep it nearby the radio since the tend to be rather complicated...memory settings, cut..paste ...and so on. Although it works, on retrospect, I think it was somewhat overpriced. It is compact, sounds not too bad, it as an earphone jack and keeps time. If I have the inclination to listen to short wave etc. it's supposed to be able to do this but I have not tested the radio for that...and do I really want to hear the BBC at some weird hour of the day? Well that's all folks!

I only gave it 4 stars for bad positioning of antenna by makers, and due to not knowing how well it is with draining batteries yet. I will do an update in the future on that rating. The company needs to fix this antenna to stand properly up and not in your face. The only way it does if you turn your radio, but you would be reading the display sideways. Not hard to turn it around to set it and turn it back for antenna to not be in your face or on your shoulder.

This Radio has the allowed frequency . Some buttons needs to be revised . Like the print size and some wording like SW is not mentioned or written.The cover is a good idea but it is a workout to have the radio sits up and maneuvering the antenna. As the antenna goes through a hole in the cover it is a hassle to take the cover out every time you wish .Also at least to provide the external Antenna with it as the price is already High enough to cover the antenna cost. I do not see anyone buying this radio for the sound there are many Bluetooth speakers that could be used to have good sound. It is bought for convenience to not to rely on internet to hear some frequency . In Conclusion this radio is a very nice electronic square to have it is dependable and ready any time . I would buy it again anytime
