When I use these I keep flashing back to elementary school art classes. I just remember my friends and I unwrapping them until the art teacher would get upset. Now that I pay for them I get it. I t also takes forever to use one - provided you don’t unroll the wrapper prematurely. I have used them for all sorts of things but when u need just a smidge of color - absolutely worth their weight in gold. Now if you have a divot or a ding, the colored putty/wood filler is what you want.I will admit that I used to use a more premium brand of stain, but now that I live in a more rural area, mini wax is easier to find and the complete line just means I don’t get in the middle of anything and have a supply issue and then there is always Amazon which is getting to be like next day delivery.

Who knew that the common ordinary, soft putty sticks no longer exist? This worked although not quite as well as the old type that use to be readily available, easy to use and did not need heated. I put down a little new white pvc quarter round after laying a new vinyl tile floor in a bathroom and needed to fill nail holes. Heating this with a hair dryer as you work is definitely what softens it and allows it to work. Then just wipe off excess with paper towel. Peeling the paper off to "sharpen" it would be great except that it seemed difficult to peel and became stuck to itself. Maybe the heat caused that, but without heating this is too hard and brittle to work for nail holes. This was, however, the only thing that worked and even on pvc "wood".

The putty in this pencil crumbled when pressed into the nail holes. It was too dry and stiff for filling the holes so I had to apply more pressure, and then it would crumble. I got it to work by using my finger and a screwdriver to force it in. So it masks the holes ok, but it wasn’t easy to use. Maybe i just got an old one…

I have 5 IKEA Hemnes bookcases that I’ve gotten at various times over the past 10+ years. They all had dings, scratches, scrapes from life in an active household. One bookcase in particular had the finish worn off the bottom from a rocking chair scraping the bookcase. This pencil filled every single thing in! Amazing. It took a lot of time and some elbow grease. For the deeper gouges you can still see the little dips, but they’re the same color as the rest of the furniture now. I’m really pleased with how much better they all look now and strongly recommend you give it a go. My method was to fill in the dings, scratches, etc and then rub it with an old tee shirt to blend.

Does NOT work as described. Brittle, just crumbles and falls apart. I tried to use this in a small nick on cabinet door. Instructions say "work pencil into hole". LOL. with the slightest pressure it crumbled into numerous dry bits and fell on to floor. Threw it in garbage. Waste of money

This was so easy to use. I’d just dropped a heavy coaster on my new coffee table and was pretty ticked. A carpenter recommended this to me. I guessed on the color and it was right on. It worked so well I can’t even really tell where the damage was! This would be great for minor dings in your cabinets, on your hardwood floors, and furniture. It comes in a whole variety of colors. Saved my brand new table, I’m super happy with it.

I must have dragged something sharp over my wood floors, they were stained dark last year and the scratch was near a window so it was terribly visible. It was a LONG thin scratch. I used this stain pencil in ebony over the wood, I colored in the scratch like a little kid drawing with a crayon, getting it from all angles. The excess wiped away easily with a rag, You can't even tell where the scratch was. I am so happy this pencil worked because I had tried stain markers for another spot previously and they are hard to apply neatly, excess gets on the good part of the wood and won't wipe off, and looks fake. I will only use these pencils from now on.

Pour arranger l'esthétique du meuble après sa réparation. Fonctionne pas mal comme un crayon de cire ou de la pâte à modeler. Après un peu de pratique, le résultat est satisfaisant
