This is a great time-saving device to use with your Mitutoyo measurement tool. The cable will type the current measurement into any software a keyboard can type into. Just press the red button on the cable and voila! Note that the cable always presses "enter" after typing in the measurement number, which may or may not be what you want. It's not configurable.Make certain you get the cable with the correct connector for your device! Go to the Mitutoyo homepage, click "Literature", scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Manuals". On the manuals page, search for the exact part number ("Code No."="Order No.") you're interested in. They will give you PDFs to download. Download the PDF and read through it to find compatibility information. Not all Mitutoyo devices have a plug for output! The devices that don't support output are slightly cheaper, but won't work with a cable like this. If you're uncertain about your tool's capabilities, check the Mitutoyo website catalog materials. The output plug feature is called different things in difference places. It is most often called "SPC" on the Mitutoyo website. It is called "digimatic" in some catalogs and marketing materials. Another way you may see it indicated is by "... with/without Output".Finally: for all Mitutoyo equipment, I highly recommend you only buy from the Amazon LLC seller. Third party sellers on Amazon may not ship you genuine Mitutoyo hardware.

Pricey, for what it is and does. But it appears durable and fits/functions perfectly. It speeds up accurate input data into my pre-sequenced spreadsheet calculators during workpiece measurement with digital output tools. Down one star due to cost only.

Works as advertised but the cost is absolutely outrageous. Quality seems ok but I haven't really used it much yet.It would be nice if they'd put the trigger inline instead of right on the gauge. It sucks to have to press on the indicator to get the reading. If your mount isn't rock steady then you WILL change the reading when you trigger the output.I'm going to see what I can do about a hack to put a trigger elsewhere. That and look at it from a coding point of view. The software is equally expensive and I'm not sure it will do what I need anyway.
