Miuono Diamond Tester-for Novice and Expert
Operation method:
1. Turn on the power, the power indicator is on, the instrument starts to warm up, and the instrument can be used in a few seconds. (after the lamp is on ready ok).
2. Put the measured bare drill into the appropriate concave hole of the support tray, and put its tabletop up. The inlaid ones need not be placed in the tray hole but can be held by hand.
3. According to the weight of the diamond to be measured and the temperature of the measuring environment, turn on exact light-emitting diodes according to the manuals.
4. Take off the probe sheath, hold the instrument, and touch the conductivity plate of the back cover of the instrument with the right index finger; make the probe vertically contact with the table surface of the true and false diamond to be measured.
5. Pay close attention to the reflection of the instrument. If the remaining yellow light-emitting diodes are on, when they are on to nine diodes, accompanied by a beep, it indicates that the tested person is a real diamond. On the contrary, if less than 9 and the instrument does not give out a sharp sound, indicating fake diamonds or counterfeit goods.
NOTICE:
1. When testing the diamond, keep your hand on the metal bar on the selector's back, while pressing the test tip on the diamond you want to test at a 90 DEGREES to get the right result.
2.Put the rubber back on the test tip when you are not using it, turn the knob off, and take out the battery to extend the usage life.
One test may not satisfy you, so you may want to run several more to be sure -- It is important that if you keep running tests on that same diamond, it would become warm. A warm diamond won’t read correctly, so some of the tests may be incorrect. Therefore, allow the diamond to cool if it gets warm before you run more tests.

The probe of the instrument is very sensitive and must be protected with special care. When not in use, the probe should be sheathed.
When the standby indicator light is very dark, it means that the battery will be exhausted, and the battery should be replaced in time.

Test result analysis
- If lights >= 9 and have sounds, it is true diamond.
- If lights < 9 and no sounds, it is not dimond.
- If lights is 7 or 8, it is true crystal. If lights is 6 or 7, it is true jade.
- If lights is 4 or 5, it is glass.
- Don't test metal.

The unit works; however, I believe it was a return or a used one, the diamond tester was upside down in the carrying case that comes with it. Also, the tip that you place on a diamond has an individual little plastic/rubber slip on cover that was off, probably because the tip was sticking out of the carrying case. The case is simple and self-explanatory as it has a hard little section portioned off inside for the tip of the diamond tester to be placed inside while not in use. I should return the unit because the battery that came with it was "DEAD" it didn't have enough power to even turn the unit on. I had to buy a new 9V battery which cost me $7.00 and some change. I choose this particular unit because it came with a battery and then I end up having to buy one as I needed to use the unit, plus I wanted to make sure it was working. The diamond tester is easy to use, but because of the poor handling of the unit and the dead battery I can only give it 1 star.

If you are trying to distinguish between diamond and moissanite, then this won't work for you. Both my moissanite and diamond rings both set off the sound (and same color patterns). I also got a positive result for my sapphire ring. I'm not too shocked since sapphire and moissanite are at a 9 and 9.25 on the Mohr hardness scale (diamond is at a 10). However, for my travel rings with CZ/simulated diamonds, there was no sound at all. I am planning on using this to verify that any jewelry I order from online is authentic, but I will also be inspecting the stones with my loupe.
