Hefty/rock solid tool for opening water meter access cover. Excellent price relative to quality. Pry handle feature is nice, but would be perfect if the handle was a little longer (more leverage) and the bevel a little thinner (easier to fit in gap between cover and round meter vault).

I only learned that there's a such thing as a curb box (I always wondered what that little circle was between in the grass between me & my neighbor's house...) within the past 6 months or so. I always thought just knowing where my house shut-off valve is located was all I needed to know, but I watched a video late last year and the guy had a plumbing issue at his shut-off valve -- ah ha, what do you do then!? That's where I learned this curb box exists!I only tested to make sure that it fit over the nut, but I did not test actually turning the nut because I *think* the box services both my house & my neighbor's house, and just in case I don't want to risk it by trying (I'd sure hate to find out I ruined a shower or something by playing around with it. That and I don't know if I'm technically even allowed to in a non-emergency, whether that's turning off, turning back on, or both). But you better believe in an emergency I'd turn it without a second thought! Feels strong and plenty capable of cutting the water at the curb.This is a great tool to have on hand, I wish I'd known about it sooner (and probably should have got one when I first learned about the curb box...better late than never).
