Q: How do you get the water out of the ball into the plant?
A: Once you fill the bird, you place it into the plant and it will release water as needed. It helps if you make a hole where you are going to place the bird first, then the soli won't get plug up the water release.

How to Use:
Step 1
Use other tools to make a hole in the soil, this will also help to avoid soil clogging the tube
Step 2
Fill water into the bird watering bulbs through the pipe opening
Step 3
Wrap the spout with a sponge or permeable cloth to prevent clogging by soil if you need
Step 4
Pipe downwards, then insert it into the hole you made in the soil

This is the cutest water bulb ever! I get compliments on it when people see it. It’s a little hard to fill with water - time consuming - because it’s designed to not let much water in or out at one time (which is a good thing). Even though it’s glass it’s very sturdy

Super cute, but don’t hold much water, and made of very fragile glass. I broke 1 the day I got them, and my landscapers have broken several others with nothing but a leaf blower. Kind of a pain around a pool, because of the broken glass.

Update: After about 2.5 years of use, I just went to take mine out to fill it and the bird part broke off from the stem. So you do need to be a bit careful with it, but I think that’s a pretty good lifespan and I’m ordering another one.I’ve been using mine for 6 months and it works great. It does a take little bit of effort to fill, but getting it at the right angle under the stream from the tap helps. Plus, it’s less effort than rememberIng and watering on a regular basis. If this is taking you ten minutes to fill, you may have some other issues. Mine does get a little dirt in it, but since it’s going in a plant, I’m not sure why that is surprising or upsetting to people. And as I said, I’ve been using mine for months and it hasn’t broken. All of these bad reviews are pretty surprising, honestly. It’s $9, it looks nice, and it’s keeping my fern alive. Money well spent, in my opinion.

Ok so I saw this ....and thought oh my that is so cute. I ordered one. I was so disappointed when it arrived because it was broken. The tail of the bird had broken off making it worthless. If this company had prepared this in a proper manner for shipping, it would not have gotten broken. It was not in a box, but in a flimsy plastic mailing bag, as if this was not bad enough *no box seriously? * The packing they put the bird in is soft and there fore making it useless. Maybe if they had put FRAGILE on the packaging it might have survived. The top end of the package that just happened to be the end the main body of the bird was in was crushed. I wish i knew how to upload photo's but I don't. It is a shame because the bird really would look good in planters. So by trying to save a couple pennies with shipping they sacrificed the safety of the product.So no i do not recommend this product. I recommend you steer clear of this company. WAY CLEAR.

I held my breath when I opened the package - it arrived in a plastic bag! There was a styrofoam container inside that was dented and bent - But the delicate birds were intact! Clear and wonderfully made.
