I found an old Pentax K1000 on Craigslist and wanted a vintage strap. Looked on eBay and people wanted $20+ for one. No sir, I came to Amazon and found this gem! It is very well built and really makes the camera look even better! I learned on the K1000 back in the early '80s. It had a cloth strap. So I am pumped to find this strap to go on the great piece of equipment!

I personally like having my camera strap short, but I ended up with a lot of extra strap that was hanging around my camera. Now it would be fine if the plastic rectangle was actually tight enough to hold it still, but I found that it was loose and would move around a lot. I ended up cutting the extra dangling strap and leaving about two inches of it, honestly not a big deal. I’d say that the cream color is definitely more tan like another review has mentioned. I found that the strap is okay, it does its job and there are no glaring problems with it. The main buckle is fine, just the part to hold the extra strap is looser than I like.

Pretty, and seems solidly built, but it's more like a guitar strap, whereas I wanted to use it for binoculars as the listing recommends. The wide part of the strap is very long, meaning that when hanging binoculars as a normal length, you have to tighten the thin cords almost all the way to the end, leaving a bunch of loose cord flying around and the wide ribbon-like neck strap pressing up close to the binocular eyepieces (not badly enough to really interfere with use, but it feels awkward).The 2-inch-wide neck strap also covers a big area on the back of my neck, meaning that when I wear the binoculars in front (as you do while birding) rather than cross-body (as you might when carrying them for occasional use), the edge of the strap digs into my neck whenever I look up. The material that touches the skin is a kind of polyester or something that may be less sweaty than the rubber/neoprene ones but feels warmer against my neck, which I think won't be pleasant when birding in the tropics.
