I am a utility kind of person. I would not buy a placemat for my pet for decorative purposes. This mat works to keep dog drool off my floor. My springer spaniel dribbles and I would get puddles on the laundry room floor to step in... yuck. Then I got this mat and it absolutely works to absorb the dribbles. Easy to wash when it gets smudged from her muddy paws too.

I was a little hesitant to buy these because the reviews were so mixed. Personally, I have 1 small Pomeranian and 1 medium Pomeranian-Husky mix. The only one that gets water everywhere is the medium sized dog and it's not even that bad so I didn't need anything crazy absorbent. I have never seen water sitting on top of the mat for very long and I never see water marks/stains so I assume that it absorbs it. The mat itself is a soft rubbery feeling and the color is true to the photos listed. I think if you have dogs that get water everywhere out of the bowl like crazy, this might not be the mat for you but if you get drips sometimes, this one is fine.

Oh, I've tried many dog mats. Cloth ones. Towels. Other supposed "non-skid" mats. Everything ended up slipping all over the floor and getting so wet or dirty that I'd have to start from square one again.These dog mats are perfection. Easy to clean. Truly non-skid. Large enough to accommodate various sizes of water and food bowls. And they look good, too!Forget all of the other dog mats out there. Get these. They won't disappoint.

I got this for my slobbery pup but unfortunately it isn't very absorbent as we quickly noticed water underneath the mat as well. It helps a little but not enough to make it worth it. Maybe a larger size would've been better.

Does not clean easy. Thought it was a good idea but the floor gets wet underneath.

This fits well under our dogs dishes. It helps keep the mess off the floor and we no longer worry about water getting all over. It is easy to clean as well. Highly recommend!
