I upgraded my 1977 Jeep CJ5's steering to a one-ton setup a while back on the front Dana 30. It's been great, but I've always wanted to bring the drag link as close to parallel to the tie rod. This Jeep has leaf springs so there is no track bar to be concerned about. It's got a 4" spring lift. I finally found this pitman arm. It's beefy, made by Moog, and says Made in USA right on the box. It is a little shorter center to center than the factory CJ pitman arm, but I believe the 1.75" drop will balance that out. For those wondering, the factory CJ pitman arm is 6.5" c/c. This stock Jeep Cherokee WJ pitman arm is 6.25" c/c. The splines are the same but may need a groove cut in each of the 4 flats. The tie rod end is also the same as the factory CJ drag link end. The 7/8-14 thread pitch (1 5/16" socket) nut is also the same and gets torqued to 185 ft. lbs. for ALL Saginaw steering boxes.
