These are great replacement ball joints. You will need to remove the lower control arm and grind out the old rivets. Remove the bolts and let the arm hang down. Then you can get to the ball joint bolt. After removing the cotter pin loosen the nut. Then you can whack the lower control arm but the ball joint will prolly not pop out. Be careful to not hit the CV joint boot or it will bust and leak. If it does not pop out remove the CV axle and pop the tie rod end out. Remove the bolt holding the brake line. Then you can pull the rotor hub assembly out far enough to get the CV axle out from the hub assembly, do not pull it from transmission. Then you can remove the nut all the way and then strike it sharply, I hit mine three times and it popped out. I hit it on the bolt that is left after removing the nut from the ball joint. After grinding the rivets take note of the position of the old ball joint before removing it completely. Drill out the holes to almost 1/2 inch because the supplied bolts are too big to fit in the holes. After it is assembled and ready to put back on vehicle make sure the cutter pin hole is front to back so you can install cutter pin. If it is turned grab it with some vice grips and turn it.

If you are removing original ball joint on Equinox (2016 in my case) you will need to remove the factory rivets (3) and DRILL LARGER HOLES in lower control arm. This is necessary to fit the bolts provided with the Moog ball joint. I found this to be the most time consuming part of the repair. It is particularly difficult when working on the car jacked up near the floor because of the room required to fit the drill motor and bit under the car. It certainly would be easier if the car was on a lift, or if the control arm was removed from the car.On a positive note the hole is already provided for the grease zerk to be installed.

Dislike: (1) Bolts included are too big and requires drilling the lower control arm rivet holes so they can fit. (2) No lock-nuts or washers of any kind included. Just a regular nut. Must use lock tight to ensure the nuts stay in place.Likes: The brand

About an hour per side to install. Longest portion of install was drilling out factory rivets.

Cornering on my vehicle feels brand new after installing these. Good quality product and would definitely recommend. Did not give 5 stars however because the bolts that came with this part were not the right size. You have to either drill the mount holes bigger with a 1/2in drillbit or go purchase smaller bolts at your local hardware store. Other than that, very happy with this purchase.
