You should have received one of these with your Shaker, but if you did not this is the correct OEM accessory part. Sure, you could use a nut driver or a socket/ratchet to remove the Shaker nuts. This tool holds on to the nuts to keep them from being accidentally dropped in to the engine compartment.I keep my original in the glove box, and bought this as a spare to live in the shop toolbox for doing oil changes, etc.

This item is amazing! It’s suppose to come with the shaker but mine didn’t! Definitely purchase if you have a shaker!
