As a DJ when vinyl records were the media of choice, I used to be much more abusive with gear. All of the back and forth movement of the records on the needles, in often dusty, smokey environments, and dirty fingerprints would all eventually accumulate on record needles. And my method for clearing the debris? A single swipe of my finger tip on the needle. When you're playing live with only a few minutes between songs, there really isn't time to clean the needle carefully.Now that I've grown up a bit, and listening to records has become more intentional, and definitely more of an investment, I'm more conscious about taking care of my records, and equipment. I'm better about actually cleaning my records before playing them, and being more gentle with the tone arm and needle, rather than dropping them on the record like I used to. Also having a needle cleaner is a good idea for removing any dust and debris, versus the old method. Having something like this works nicely to easily remove junk off of the needle using the cleaner pad and brush. It's a simple kit that should be part of any avid vinyl collector to help protect and prolong their equipment as well as provide more enjoyment when listening to records.

This is a good little stylus cleaning kit for your turntable. The included brush is effective at removing basic dirt, as well as the gel for a deepper clean. These tools in combination with each other allow for a very easy and effective stylus cleaning experience. Highly recommend!

I got a turntable (my first in about 35 years) a few months ago, and a couple of things are different from when I had my last one—I now live in a dry climate, and I have cats. This means that there is more dust and dander floating in the air AND that there is much more static, so it all wants to t stick to my stylus despite the cover of my turntable being closed 97% of the time.So, I was glad to find this stylus cleaning kit. It has been a lifesaver (sound saver?). It’s very easy to use—just tap the stylus on the gel periodically to remove the accumulated debris. There’s a brush, too, to clean up any stray particles. Very simple, but very effective.

The stylus brush here is a great addition to this cleaning set; It’s a bit larger and much more comfortable to use than some other stylus brushes (that are usually WAY too tiny to handle easily). The bristles on this brush are particularly soft & gentle, too, and make it easy to safely clean crud off your turntable needle.The silicone gel pad provided, though, is not quite as perfect as the brush. The lid is somewhat difficult to open; and, the gel itself is harder and not as sticky as it probably could be. To clean with a gel pad, a stylus is gently tapped on the silicone surface, which pulls off dust & dirt that can accumulate on a needle after playing records. The softer and stickier the silicone is, the more gunk can be cleaned off with just a few taps.Stubborn residue can be removed by using the included soft brush—always brushing back-to-front to avoid damaging the stylus!This 2-piece kit is a nice addition for any vinyl record enthusiast.

Living in a dusty house with old LP's, the needle tends to collect all of the floating stuff in the house. This stylus cleaner works perfect for safely getting all of that stuff off the needle on occasion. Simply dab the stylus onto the cleaning gel, and the gel will remove the accumulated dirt on the needle. The included soft brush works well for additional clean up.
