Every woman should carry a purse hook. I had one years ago, and after it broke I never got another one. Then recently I went to lunch with some coworkers to a restaurant that had no extra chairs at the table and the back of the chairs were rounded, so having a purse with fairly short straps, I couldn't hang it on the back. I wasn't about to put it on the floor (I've seen women do this, and it's gross, just don't). I had to hold my purse between my knees through the whole lunch. I made a mental note to order another purse hook as soon as I got home!

This is prettier in person than the photo. I think the inlay mother-of-pearl reflects the light a little. It came beautifully boxed and it seems well made and worth the money. I am proud to give it as a gift. I can't speak to durability since I just got it but gave it 5 stars because it looks and feels durable.

This is the only purse hook I have where one of the magnets to keep it closed fell out. Now how that happened, I’ve no idea, but it keeps hanging on to the accompanying pillbox underneath, so there’s a plus. Unfortunate, since this is one of the few vendors I get my usually reliable mother of pearl products from.

This is very classy looking and it serves the purpose of keeping your purse off the floor and back of the chair. I once hung my purse on the back of the chair and accidentally left it at a restaurant Luckily I got it back, but started keeping my purse on my lap, which was not pleasant. I looked for a solution and found this! It works on most types of tables and holds my very heavy purse without a problem.Female friends, even males who travel with backpacks love the concept.
